The stories and acting are superb. It's on the slow side, there is never any violence. It's Brits being Brits in another era. It's elegant. I'm not even binging it, too good for that. One ep a day, there are 13 seasons with 70 total episodes. This will take awhile. I've read it changes after the first 50 eps, I hope they didn't ruin it. It was on for 25 years, in typical Brit fashion, they skipped a season here and there. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Fantastic work by so many people there, all the original music, great casting, a real lock on many of the stage personae I knew when I worked in the industry. If it's reached Netflix, it's worth the journey. Never doubt a small group of concerned citizens can change the world; it's the only thing ever has |

Watched 2 documentaries on Netflix on the same subject The Prince of Pennsylvania by ESPN 30 for 30 Team FoxCatcher by Netflix I thought the ESPN was far superior but Netflix had more personal videos shot at the time This is about the rich John Dupont killing wrestler Dave Schultz The weird thing the ESPN documentary, Dave Schultz's brother was a big part of the story Netflix documentary never mentioned him, Watching the Netflix doc, you would never know Dave had a brother Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

I really thought I would like them but I didn't care for either one of them. I am not sure why, maybe I was expecting more of a biography of DuPont or more wrestling material. I attended the U. of Iowa and am a huge wrestling fan so I knew quite a bit already about the Schultz brothers and team Foxcatcher. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

| Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 148 Posts: 25978 | Chelsea Handler has a talk show that debuted today on Nflix. I think this may be one of the stupidest, most obnoxious women on TV. Ever. She brags about being rich and never having gone to college. She brags about hating kids. She talks like she never thinks before words come out of her mouth. Listening to her is painful. The first guest on the first show is Obama's sec of edu. So boring, and Chelsea is so out of her league with this guy, I had to FF it. Then she couldn't name all the continents. She had no idea why there are 365 days in a year, other than the sun was involved. I bailed after 20 min. She's 41 and reasonably attractive. She had that stupid celeb show on E for years, when she was still hot looking. The woman is an uneducated airhead who clicks well with other uneducated airheads, not with a general audience. If she lasts on Nflix I'll be shocked and disappointed at the state of intelligence in the people who watch Nflix. She doesn't look like this anymore: If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

| Nareed Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 346 Posts: 12545 | At the close of my vacation I streamed the last two seasons of "How I Met Your Mother." I recommend watching them on a binge, as they make for a rather good, coherent, comedic story. Unlike the previous seasons, there's a focus here on what's been developing previously, with fewer side trips. The ending, though (SPOILER ALERT), might strike some as disappointing. It was nice to get a look beyond the traditional sitcom finale, but the very end was 1) a reset button and 2) the reveal that the show should have been named "How Ted Pursued Robyn." Now, as to a spinoff, they should think about developing The Captain. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Her rating on IMDB was 8.9 on Wed, two days later it's plummeted to 6.7, and it will only go down from there. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

| Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | My neighbor highly recommended the following. He said it was one of the best films he has ever seen. I haven't watched it yet. Michiel de Ruyter is a 2015 Dutch film about the 17th-century admiral Michiel de Ruyter directed by Roel Reiné. The film had its world premiere in the Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum in Amsterdam on 26 January 2015 and has been released in cinemas in the Netherlands on 29 January 2015. RT gives it 3 good out of 5 reviews. ![]() If you see the location where they are proposing to build a 6 runway airport outside London called the Thames Estuary airport, in 1667 the Admiral Michiel de Ruyter staged a daring attack in that small body of water below the proposed runway. He sank 11 ships and destroyed the naval capabilities of King Charles. The future William III of England was age 16 at the time, and was then known as William of Orange. Although you would think that the Dutch would be hated in Britain for the wars, it turns out they hated Catholics even more. William married his first cousin Mary, elder surviving daughter of James, Duke of York in 1677. When James became Catholic, and remarried and had a boy, the Protestants in Great Britain asked William and Mary, to rule over Britain in what is called the Glorious Revolution. William of Orange is the source of the color Orange you see on St. Patrick's Day ![]() On Netflix it is just call ADMIRAL. Don't type in THE ADMIRAL or you will get the movie called MYEONG-RYANG (THE ADMIRAL) (2014) a historical movie about warfare between the Koreans and Japanese. |
