More power to anyone who can make a living doing what they like.

Whether they are planning for the future is a separate question, and not always followed very well by people with traditional jobs either. As far as I know stats show most people under prepare for their old age.

I believe you have no idea
what a loser is. To me it's
a guy who's 43 and has
nothing yet. The distance
between 43 and 50 is short
indeed. By 45 you should
have at the very least a
property of value that is
paid off, or will be by the
time you're 50. Or at least
have a good amount of money
in the bank or invested.

If you're wandering around
on trails at 43, smoking pot every
day, being supported by the
kindness of strangers, you're
a loser.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Didn't Bourdain galivant the world, just sort of roaming around showing folks what it was like? And people (strangers) found it entertaining, so they threw money at him?

So, Materialism. You didn't strike me as the type.
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

Tony Bourdain? He was a successful chef for
25 years, wrote a best selling book about
it, and was offered a lucrative TV deal
because of it. Where he worked his ass
off for years traveling. Making a TV show
is long hours and retake after retake.
And it's not fun being away from home
for most of the year.

Being able to fend for yourself
isn't materialism. What he's
dong is what you do at 23, not
43. He thinks he's doing great,
but that's the dope talking. He's
homeless and lives in a tent and
gets enough money to feed
himself from strangers.

Just about everybody I know just does it at night after work and on the weekends
I hold down a good job dealing with high end clients. Never ever smoke during work. My clients expect a sharp mind when they call
Its pretty much like alcohol. People do it after work and the weekends. Weed is no different.

Of course Ed is correct here. There are millions who use it the same way millions use alcohol appropriately. And of course there are millions who overuse, just like alcohol. I think once fully legal, we will find out marijuana is less dangerous and less a drag on society when compared to alcohol. I am for individual rights, and individual responsibilities. Make marijuana legal, with age and driving restrictions just like alcohol.

It's funny on Live PD watching
people getting arrested for
driving on pot. For one thing,
their car reeks of the cat piss
smell of it. And cops are well
trained now to spot impairment.
One look at the drivers pupils,
and the cat piss smell, and it's
off to jail for a blood test. lol

they treat it just like drinking slcohol and use it when they don't have to be productive.

For every one person like that, there are probably 50 who are total losers.
