Another weekend home, no plans…all my friends live out of state and are married.
Unless I am at a casino, I have no social life.
I have been celibate for the past year.

Well, you still beat Eric Frein for social life. But that's not saying much. In fact, now that crazy women can find him in prison, it likely will be picking up for awhile.

Consider doing volunteer work. You have the ability to make the world better, by using your special skills, talents and knowledge. You have a lot to offer Ace.

Well If I was in an area where I could walk to local hangouts (such as NYC), I certainly would. On Long Island, you have to drive everywhere and I am too old for the nightclub scene

As much as I hate Long Island I do have to say there has to be plenty to find to do there. If that is what you want. I consider myself a hermit but at the same time I never seem to be home sitting still for long. The thing is you can tell yourself a social life and a woman will make you happy. But unless you are happy with yourself it will not matter.

What are you complaining about? Really, specific and true, what is it about right now that's bothering you?

I've never been happy with myself.

A lack of friends and social life other than when I am in a casino.
Now that Revel is closed, I do not have a "home base" casino where I know everyone and could basically sit down at a table, not play, and merely socialize with the dealers, floor people and players I knew. And yes, I realize those are not "real" friendships but merely acquaintances.

Just like the camera aos, GoPro. Have the hookers pick up the pizza and beer on their way over. Relationships are really overhyped and the only really honest one is renting.

I get it. It's not "real", but it's something. Now it's nothing.

Totally cliche, but try something new. And I don't mean a stupid something, like taking up yoga just because yoga pants. Take up something you've always been interested in, but never had the time. Now you have the time.

That's your only goal. Accept that you're alone in the now, and you might as well work on self. Accept it and do it.

It's a win-win. Doing something new is interesting, so you'll not focus on what is wrong. Doing something period will raise your self esteem. And you're not a d-bag. This whole new group of people you will be exposed to will likely produce links to friendship.

I dunno nothing about searching for friends. I can't think of a single friendship I have that I tried to manufacture. But every time I get a new job or take up a new sport or get into a new activity, there's always friendships and connections that result.

Your other choice is to sit home, do nothing, and simply lament the state of your life. I've tried it. It doesn't produce results.

LOL - message received but I feel, if anyone has to pay, they should pay me

Along those lines, there is a nightclub about 35 minutes from me and this is their online flyer for tonight:

Go to your local poker room and play the cheapest cash game, usually 1-2
Not a lot at stake so some tables can get pretty friendly.

Hit up a local sports bar and have dinner at the bar while watching a game.
