odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 154 Posts: 5112 | the 'prove you're not a robot' things have gotten insanely difficult at a time when, as far as I can tell, it's being realized they don't have to be hard at all today I was trying to download a manual. The 'prove it' thing had me click on pictures where I saw a crosswalk. No way I did it wrong *unless* one of the images had a crosswalk that didn't look like one. previously, I've failed to pass one where the images were of, say, a bicycle, but it wasn't clear if you were to click on the ones where only a tiny portion of a bicycle remained. I tried it both ways and never got past it. As far as the manual goes, why would you try to deny me the manual *for any reason?* I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

rxwine Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 189 Posts: 18764 | I’ve had the same issue. I have a steam account. Only 2 games on it. But I couldn’t get into it with those picture things. I thought maybe I’m just missing something, and tried way too long and never figured out what was wrong. Worse than that, there’s no humans to contact at all. Just a hint, move your mouse around a lot before you click. That seems to help. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

I think just taking longer to click also helps. It seems to get suspicious when you are too quick. |

odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 154 Posts: 5112 | I hate getting incorrect error messages well, now that I know what they are, I suppose it's more a matter of shaking my head at the stupidity I think I just got one from the DMV, saying my password wasn't recognized. The real problem is probably that they just aren't open yet. Even if it isn't the problem, this happens to me so often that I have to wait and make sure before clicking on "I forgot my password" [which I didn't] all kinds of incorrect error messages come up. It's laziness at these outfits. Maybe your mileage varies I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |
