What is my penance

Your penance will be a busted
head or broken bones if
you keep doing this at your
age. All it takes is one good
fall to screw up the rest of
your life. You ain't 25 anymore.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I knew a guy that roller bladed
all the time 30 years ago. He
quit at 40 when he broke broke collar
bone and was laid up for 6
months. A car backed out of a
driveway and he ran into it.

What is my penance, Padre?

I feel like I can be your "Father figure". $100 donation to the charity of your choice.

That feels too much like buying an indulgence.

How about you attend a church service for the next 4 weeks. Preferably a different denomination each week so there is no bias.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

Breaking a collarbone is a common injury for rollerbladers because you are bracing for a fall. I broke my collarbone twice when rollerblading back in Philadelphia. Once when I tried to jump over a park bench and well didn't make it. The other time I was blading in a city parking garage barreling down the ramps. Looking back neither was a real solid decision. lol

That truly would be a punishment. However, I think my penance should somehow fit the crime.

How about getting "Let It Ride" banned from the face of the earth?

I was not aware there were many hills out there.

I think an good pennace might be to invite a friend to rollerblade with you or take a nice long walk with a friend or family member you haven't talked to in a while.
