You have no understanding of how
doctors operate, or you would never
say something so ill informed and
ridiculous.

So you believe then that Trump is 6'3" and 239. You claim in this thread that Obama was a chain smoker, yet the physician's report for Obama in 2011 by his physician said he was tobacco-free. Link to 2011 report.

So you're wrong then about Obama being a chain smoker during his first term? I understand what you say is also so ill informed and ridiculous.

There are studies that say that doctors lie to benefit patients:

Quote: Should Doctors Ever Lie on Behalf of Patients?

Is it ever ethical for a physician to code a patient's diagnosis falsely in a medical record to gain benefits for the patient? The small amount of empirical research available suggests that many physicians do indeed choose to deceive third-party payers. In a decade-old survey, 70% of a sample of clinicians stated that hypothetically, they would write "rule out cancer" to secure funding for screening mammography if the patient's insurance would not otherwise fund it.1 Nearly half the physicians in a more recent survey admitted to exaggerating the severity of patients' conditions to get the care they felt the patient needed.2 In another study, in 1998, 39% of the physician sample admitted to exaggerating the severity of patients' conditions, changing official billing diagnoses, and documenting nonexistent symptoms—all to gain additional benefits for patients.

Or here (2012 study). There are studies that say that doctors also lie to patients.

So get off your soapbox. Doctors aren't completely ethical. I cast suspicion on anything coming from an administration whose daily briefings and statement are completely full of crap.

No. The GOP controls the WH, House, and Senate.

This has been your daily lesson in "duh."

To be fair, the GOP does not control the Senate. They do not have the 60 seats to control the Senate. They have the Senate majority, but it is the Democrat vote in the Senate that is keeping government closed. So yes, Democrats shut down the US government.

And DACA is a hot button issue. Why? Most Americans (87% - source - poll) want Dreamers to be able to stay. Their visas start to expire at the end of March. Time is running out.

As well, because the current legal immigrant population is stupid scared that Trump will take their visas away, the Democrats are betting that right-leaning immigrants will see their defense of DACA as something that will change their minds.

The GOP knew they needed 60 votes for this, and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to compromise or work with the Dems to get those votes. Congress could have passed bipartisan solutions for CHIP and DACA months ago. The bills are written. The GOP purposefully did not, because they wanted to hold them hostage until now.

So it's totally the GOP's fault.

1) The bill does not 60 votes to pass, it needs 51.

2) The 60 votes are to invoke cloture. This means 60 Senators must vote to end debate and proceed to a vote on a bill.

3) A vote was taken on a continuing resolution. Five Democrats voted for it. One Republican, McCain, was not able to vote. Five Republicans voted against it, including Mitch McConnell. Had he voted for it, it would have passed.

So this clearly is on the GOP.

Not that it matters much. Except you should hear how the world laughs.

Of I agree it's the GOP's fault. However, stating that the GOPs "control the Senate" is not true. They don't have 60 people.

If you quit the day before you
see your doctor and tell him
you quit, he will have to write
tobacco free in his report. Obama
said he quit all the time, just
like Mark Twain. MT is famous
for saying quitting is easy, I 'do
it all the time'.

There's a pic of Obama on a balcony
holding a pack of cigs in 2015. He's
said he smoked an average of 3 cigs
a day, yet he was hooked on Nicorette
Gum for withdrawals, he chewed it
all the time. Nobody on planet earth
gets nicotine withdrawal from smoking
3 cigs a day. Some friends say he was a
solitary closet smoker who smoked
constantly when he could. But he was in
deadly fear of Michelle (I'm not making
it up) and if she caught him she made
his life hell. There are reports he still smokes
in private.

Nicorette is nicotine. It's only reduces the smoking, not the craving.

Either way, 3 cigs a day is nothing, he was
obviously smoking a few packs a day if
he was chewing the gum non stop like
everybody said he was. John Boehner
said he was in meetings with Obama
where he constantly was putting new nicotine
gum in his mouth.

A simple majority suffices to change any Senate rule, including the one for 60 votes to invoke cloture.

All that really matters is who the public ends up blaming. Since Trump likes to take credit for things he didn't even do, I would hate to deprive him of the honor.
