Should you be allowed to have your 8 year old smoke cigarettes? Should you be allowed to let your 8 year old not have any schooling? Should you be allowed to let your 8 year old drink a vodka gimlet? Should you be allowed to let your 8 year old into a drag show? I think most Americans would say no to all 4. I guess you disagree. You obviously are not a parent. |

Going to agree with Terapined here, but that's why I'm curious as to what lengths we are talking about to make sure our own kids are, "Not exposed to," something. I suspect SOOPOO meant exactly what he said, but I'm just making sure. Obviously, my opinion is that you don't need a law categorically preventing something from taking place in order to ensure that your kids are not exposed to that thing. That's not even remotely close to what he said. Anyway, I wouldn't take my kids to any drag shows at the age of eight years old...especially given the fact that neo-Nazis have a recent history of showing up to these things, but if it is not an overtly sexual performance, then it is not for me to tell other parents what to do or not do. I also don't agree with equating the potential for harm of the top three of SOOPOO's list with that of a kid attending a drag show, but I don't think SOOPOO is literally suggesting that the potential for harm is the same in all cases. Ed, you continually attribute things to me that I did not say. I have not read SB03 in Tenn. I give specific examples of what I am for or against. Just read my last post to see my feelings on ‘trans’ issues. |
