It's called the 'real world'. Starting from
scratch with no breaks, or getting help
at the start, and both ending up super
successful. If you think both of those
don't take an equal amount of talent
than you need to educate yourself..

sure, starting one or two laps ahead in the mile run, is exactly the same. And they should all get the same trophy. lol.

This isn't a race. It's about talent
and ability. Look at all the people
who win the lottery, there have
been thousands. With that huge
head start, how many took the
money and made more money
with it, got even richer. A handful
compared to those who lost most
of it.

Success in business has zero to do
with how much start up money
you get. It has everything to do
with how much talent you have.
It kills you that Trump has talent.
Could you star on a TV show for
10 years based solely on your
achievements and personality?
I didn't think so.

Your definition of 'self made'
is flawed. Rockefeller was
self made. He too got a
sizable loan from his father
to start in business. Sizable
for the 1850's. In your book
that makes him not self
made at all. In your book
anybody who gets the slightest
help is a fraud, he's not self
made.

QED.

Nothing I have ever said, stated, implied or hinted, on this subject or any other, on this forum or any other, supports the idea that I believe that "assistance" equals failure, weakness, fault, or otherwise prevents you from obtaining your stake in the reward for the effort. To insinuate that I am holding a higher standard for the express purpose of excluding Trump is more of the bad faith, gaslighting sycophantry I am talking about right now.

self-made /ˈˌself ˈmād/ adjective:
made by oneself.
"his self-made fortune"
having become successful or rich by one's own efforts.
"a self-made millionaire"

He's got you arguing that a $400mm gift is self made. A $400mm gift. Self made. And that the most popular tabloid fodder for 30 bleeding years "never had a bad word said about him". And not only will you actually say it out loud where people can read it, just look how far you'll take it.

I'd not use such inflammatory words if I could avoid it. But what is it if not obsequious?
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

BORN ON THIRD BASE: Sources of Wealth of 1997 Forbes 400

Half of those 400 individuals and 100 families listed started their business lives with at least $50 million in family wealth or by inheriting a large company. This is what most people might call a "head start."

If only people who wanted to start a business or make sound investments played the lottery, I'm pretty sure the numbers would be wildly different.

In other words, they already had
business know how, they came
from a rich successful family.
Where's the list of people
who started out wealthy
from inheritance and blew
it all. I guarantee that list is 40
times bigger than the 100 listed
on Forbes.

Making money from money is
all about talent. Mark Twain
made millions in today's money.
He was a literary genius but
wanted to be a tycoon. He
lost all his money in poor
investments because he had
no talent there. Bell even asked
Twain to get in in the ground
floor of the telephone. Super
savvy Twain couldn't figure
out who'd want one, so he
declined.

I've often read if all the money
in the world was evenly distributed,
in 5 years the same people who had
it before would have it again and
the poor would still be poor. Trump
is one of those who would get
it all back.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

He's a self made billionaire. He
took millions and turned it into
billions. Do you have any idea
who can't do that? 98% of
most people. Including you
and me.

Let's see, Trump got lots of money from his father, got training advice from is father, and went into the same business. Can't make it easier than that.

So by your logic Peyton Manning had it all handed to him by his father?
The President is a fink.

Trump's success is more like Tom Brady, but only the part with deflated footballs. In other words, Cheating and scandal.
