Pretty sure I've posted on a wider range of topics of not just you, but anyone on this board. And I don't even have your post count yet.

Hawaiian officials attributed the wildfires to alleged failures from the state's main power utility company and downed power lines.

BUT....BUT......BUT........weren't we told it was "global warming?"

Keep believing the hysteria if you like, though.

what I was watching, which might have been diff from anyone else, instantly had some reporter wanting some expert to blame it on GW, but picked the wrong guy I guess who seemed puzzled and decided to be honest and said something like "well we think hurricanes may be stronger in strength" because of GW. Because it was an obviously unique circumstance of having a hurricane blowing strong winds at a time of a wildfire ... wildfires themselves not new to the area. Following that in the next few days, I was surprised to not hear a drumbeat about GW causing the wildfire , instead there was a big focus on the neglect of people supposed to be responsible for public safety and the neglect of the power company.

Not to worry, though, my wife had a Sunday show on where the reporter blamed GW. It even seemed to me that it was edited in a way to keep the person interviewed seem to not contradict that assertion, which he himself did not make.

should wildfires be accepted as evidence of Climate Change effects ?

I think so, I'd rate it higher than 'higher temperatures' on land masses, which is problematic data

Ocean temperatures are better evidence, but complicated due to the la nina/el nino and other similar confusing factors

people point out poor forest management is part of what's going on with wildfires, yes, but I don't want to seem like I'm such a skeptic I'm devoted to debunking everything, so there, I've said the above

You have fire, proper kindling, and 80mph winds, you're probably not safe in NYC if all the sidewalk garbage caught on fire.

When you get the tropical rain with the wind, fire is much less of an issue. They probably would have limited fire there if they had.

We never hear exactly why global warming would cause a forest fire. A degree or two is going to cause combustion? There is no drought in Hawaii. The thing is the believers are so used to screaming GLOBAL WARMING that they say it for anything and the media parrots it.

I don't disagree that there are too many who are ready to claim it's GW as a reflex. I already made my case that the recent Hawaii wildfire is not necessarily meaningful as GW considering the things that are getting blamed otherwise

surely nobody thinks fires are igniting from extra heat

it would be a case of the climate changing, getting droughts where they were rare before at least to the extent of it. But how much is natural climate change?

You and I would not be able to evaluate the evidence, while we have reason to suspect bias in those who can. I'm just saying I can't debunk everything as a reflex, then complain about the opposite reflex

I wonder if the Wiz was at Burning Man this year. Environmentalists set up a road block and had 100s of vehicles stopped. The local tribal police when they couldn't talk them into removing the blockade smashed a vehicle through it even with a few protestors chained to the trailer set up as the blockade. They then arrested them at gunpoint.
