if Inconvenient-Truth-Hauntee wasn't such a mouthful I think I'd use it as a counter-insult

Insults are the currency of the Left

To think we're smarter and/or more powerful than nature is funny.

Any actions by man to manipulate the climate will certainly backfire, like a pendulum.

I accidentally over-wrote what I was adding on to,

Electing "skeptics" , sorry OG, denier is the right word for people who just plan to burn more fossil fuels because they claim it is a scam. That doesn't get us there.
Denier would, debatably, be an acceptable word except for where it comes from.

People who believe the Holocaust didn't happen are called Holocaust Deniers. This was the motivation for people to use the term for anyone skeptical about climate change, since it is a really nasty slam. When it first came out, I'm sure everyone was shocked, but of course if someone slams somebody you don't like, it's easy to actually like that. So the media used it constantly to the point where is perceived to be an acceptable insult amongst most without much thinking about it anymore. Denying the Holocaust is reprehensible to the point of basically being a fellow traveler with the people who committed it. The word should have been unacceptable for other, reasonable types of skepticism.

Perhaps if you lived in the early 20th century when Eugenics was all the rage, your contempt for any skeptics would have you calling them names.... N---lover I suppose would have been your favorite for those who objected to the impact on those people. And don't try to claim your sense of things would be different, Eugenics was so popular with the intelligentsia then, just like Climate Panic is now ... and it was A-OK to be openly bigoted about Black people.

So RXwine is enjoying the fact that I don't like the term and will continue to use it whenever possible, no doubt, which I think says a lot about his character.

I use it when someone says it is a scam. That's not skeptic, that's actual denier. Skeptic is when you still have doubt.

There is no doubt that we humans have some impact on the climate.

Crippling our economy with stupid ideas implemented before they are cost efficient for the large majority of Americans is really doing nothing.
except that ...

we'll have more broke people, less than expected results, and will still be doomed.

The danger is not the climate.

The danger are the scammers that buy beachfront property pretending like the sea levels will rise because of ice melting.

Then with a straight face, tell us climate change is dangerous.

They say one thing but their actions are different.

BTW, I don't know where you get the evidence for your claim that denier was chosen for its holocaust reference. Who has the power to initiate such a meme at will, and show some evidence maybe.

If the scammers really believed in global warming and had scientific evidence, it'd be a law to not be able to live close to a seashore because of ice melting.

And they certainly would not buy an ocean front property, like Obama, Biden, Trump, etc.

Obama even installed and filled a huge fossil fuel emergency gas tank.
