If I had $1 for every movie I've watched in my life, it'd be a stretch to say I'd have an extra $200.

I might be closer to $50.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

Did you ever see the first one? It was much better.

I'm sorry, but I missed this. The kids had already seen the first one; I have no interest in it. I didn't have any interest in seeing the second one.

Speak of the devil! (literally)

The Conjuring 3 exists and the trailer just appeared on my YouTube recommendations.

(Loosely) Based on an (allegedly) true story!

Probably another 5/10, at best.

I suspect this one will be less than a 5/10.

James Wan, who directed the first two, opted not to direct this one. And from the trailer, that seems apparent to me. Some wonky green screen work in those shots on the cliff.

I guess it could be a 3/10 in my book and avid horror movie buffs will still probably like it. I think the worst horror movie I've ever seen was House of Wax with Paris Hilton and I still gave that 1.5/10. I don't really have any animus for Paris Hilton, so seeing her character get got didn't add to the score.

I guess movies are limping back. Thank goodness for China

Godzilla Vs Kong made (in three weeks)
DOMESTIC (20.6%) $80,657,654 with a $32 million domestic opening
INTERNATIONAL (79.4%) $310,300,000 with $177,400,000 in China

Godzilla (2014) made
DOMESTIC (38.2%) $200,676,069 with a $93m domestic opening
INTERNATIONAL (61.8%) $324,300,000 with $77,630,000 in China

This was released at the same time on HBO-Max (at least in the US, not sure internationally), so I am taking it as definitive proof that theaters are not going anywhere.

Wow, I probably average 5-10 movies a week.

A while back I spent a few hours on an app called Letterboxd and tried to catalog as many movies as I can remember watching. I got up to 824, and felt the list wasn’t even 1/3 complete.

I watch a lot of older movies (metv, TCM and The Movie Channel) Problem is, not sure how many I've seen, because often I will start watching a movie, and then realize I already saw it years ago.

I never realized how sharp the dialogue scene is in Hitchcock's Psycho when the Detective is meeting Norman Bates the first time. 'Caused Norman to crack. Well played.

Except, Detective certainly doesn't last long after that.
