If I do that, I need a lighter side or soup to go with it. I'm thinking either cabbage soup or unfried rice. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

| Fleastiff Member since: Oct 27, 2012 Threads: 62 Posts: 7831 | I got two pieces of Eye Round Steak....(I mistook the 1.19 for its price per pound rather than its weight). What can I do with it? I got a microwave and I got an oven but I ain't got no frying pan or range top. I got some horseradish, some garlic, some moldy Kim Chi, some fast food sauces and something brown in an unlabled jar. I do have one of those square aluminum baking pans. Also: I've been slurping some Kevita Sparkling Probiotic Lemon Ginger Drink. How do I make it myself so as to avoid paying retail? No, folks its not because of the minute amount of booze in it, I really like the lemon "zing" that it has. Its only 45 calories. |

Wow, I thought everyone had a cooktop if they had an oven. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

| Fleastiff Member since: Oct 27, 2012 Threads: 62 Posts: 7831 | Someone wanted it cleaned and so they drowned it in bleach which corroded the electrical connections and shorted out the whole darn rangetop, so the separate oven is all I got. That and two microwaves of which only one works. I'm about to slice some limes... this time I ain't let any white fuzzy stuff grow on them first even though they ain't green anymore but are like lemon colored. Lime water is refreshing and has very little sucrose or fructose in it. Its good stuff, but its messy to make. Its sort of a poor man's Better Call Saul beverage. I may be able to get fifty bucks together next month.... not enough to make it to Fort Liquordale or The Cape Canaveral Gambling Ship but its enough for a few hands of BJ at Immokalee or maybe some Bubble Craps there. Bottom of my list is MiniBacc. Might try to re-learn some PGP. But with a bank roll of fifty dollars, I wonder about chance of ruin. |

| Nareed Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 346 Posts: 12545 | Coconut and lime unfried rice with carrots, cabbage, jicama and shredded coconut. 1 cup rice, washed 400 ml coconut milk 1 large lime About 1 carrot, shredded Some jicama, shredded Some coconut meat, shredded 1/3 small red cabbage, julienne 1 clove of garlic, shredded A bit under 1/3 cup rice vinegar 1/2 tsp. turmeric 2/3-1 tsp. ground ginger Sesame oil as needed I used a Salad Shooter brand shredder for the vegetables (this one: http://www.amazon.com/Presto-Professional-SaladShooter-Electric-Shredder/dp/B0000Z6JJG ). The coconut was a bit hard on it, but it survived. So, saute the rice on medium heat with a little sesame oil. Turn heat to low and add the coconut milk. Stir, cover and let the liquid be consumed, stirring once or twice in the meantime, then remove from the flame and set aside in a bowl. On a cup mix the vinegar, juice of 1 lime, turmeric and ginger. On a pan pour sesame oil and let it heat up on medium flame. Add the cabbage and saute until soft (about 7-10 minutes according to taste). Add the rest of the vegetables and saute for another 3-5 minutes. Add the vinegar mix from the cup and mix well to coat everything. Add the rice and mix/stir well. Maybe next time I'll add some pineapple bits... It was quite frankly delicious as is. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Did not work out....One large onion used up all my burrito slices. I've still got that bag of six or so smaller onions, lots of butter, some olive oil left over from the cat, no range top, just oven and microwave oven. Also have some Salsa sauce that is too hot, some misc. spices,.....will be able to buy a dozen eggs....so what are your suggestions for making this seem somewhat exotic? |
