Yes, mysterious.

Quote:
At least 127 earthquakes have been recorded in a highly restricted region of central Nevada that contains several major US military and nuclear-related facilities.

The seismic activity began on Saturday, with the latest tremor detected on Wednesday.

The quakes ranged from magnitude 3.3 down to about 1.4, striking in the vicinity of the Tonopah Test Range, sometimes referred to as 'Area 52.'

The remote military range near the town of Tonopah is not primarily used for nuclear detonations, but it has long been linked to US nuclear weapons programs.

The site is used to test how nuclear weapons would be delivered, including experiments where aircraft drop non-nuclear versions of bombs to study their performance.

It has also been used for missile and aircraft testing, and during the Cold War, hosted experiments in which mock nuclear bombs were dropped to simulate real weapons deployments.

I don't hear it mentioned much in defense of Israel, but Christian denominations, go on a lot about imposing the special case of the Biblical obligation for God's chosen people.

I don't know what God chose them for, possibly for suffering and being driven out wherever they go as that what seems to go on a lot. I don't worship a myth, but I'm sure my tax dollars are going in part to support it, even though the Biblical defense of Israel isn't actually used to promote our defense dollars.

Summing up the strategy by US vs Iran.

US we control the airspace. Still bombing and firing at hostile targets and fixed sites on the ground

Iran - using generally lower cost munitions to try to use up our high-priced defenses.

Hegseth says, it's not going to work. Who really knows. Truth not necessary an advantage in war.

CIA trying to formant (or would it be ferment in this case) unrest with Kurds.

Trump still braying.

Is Iran rope-a-doping or are they low on munitions?

I love the Kurdish people.

But, they are hated in Iran (not just by the government,) funding a group of a few thousand (maybe 10k with the most liberal estimates,) Kurds to try to take over a country of 90 million people is an absurd proposition.

The only way the Kurds can take the government is if a massive allied ground invasion accompanies them (which very well may be the plan.)

Every now and then government officials spout off some biblical nonsense to defend Israel. When interviewing Mike Huckabee,Tucker Carlson said that according to the Bible, the descendants of Abraham would receive land that today would include essentially the entire Middle East, and asked Huckabee if Israel had a right to that land. Huckabee responded: “It would be fine if they took it all.”
I wonder if either one of them know that Muslims claim to also be children of Abraham through his son Ishmael.

Gas well over five bucks a gallon for premium at Chevron in Portland metro area.

Glad I'm well off: I'd hate not to be these days.

I have an electric car, so it doesn't directly effect me. It may effect my travel plans for fall trips (everything before then already purchased) because of the fuel prices causing airline ticket spikes (also not going anywhere near the middle east if this illegal war does not end by then, so that will also change things.)

But, we are pretty good here, gas is about 3.15 here today, and expected to go up more tommorrow. So it is not terrible yet.

That being said, it's crazy how much conjobs obsess over gas prices when Democrats are in power. But, when Trump directly causes increases from tarrifs or now an illegal war, "well we just need to suffer to make the world safer for Israel...". Their whole ideology is a sham.
