I don't need the money, I suspect it will go to my wife and son after I pass. But Trump's cloddish moves caused the value of US bonds to be degraded...SHAME!! So unnecessary, and all in service of...what, exactly? Oh yeah...tax breaks for billionaires, increasing the deficit and screwing the American public. Hope you revel in the moment. |

If you are in it for the long run why are you acting like a girlie man every time the market has a bad day? Oh, yeah, you’re not acting. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

I am most displeased with the ‘big beautiful bill’ which passed the House last night. It includes the ‘no taxes on tips’ provision. So that’s what, 10,000,000 more Americans that ‘regular’ workers will have to subsidize? The waiter at The Palm who makes $20k in salary and $180k in tips now will pay essentially no taxes! Your casino dealer making $70k will file a return showing $30k? If this actually passes the Senate with that included, should we lower our tips!?! In actuality, this will of course be inflationary! How can the ‘regular office job’ compete with the waiter gig who will have most of his earnings shielded from taxes? It can’t, unless it raises wages. Which of course leads to higher prices. Why did the loser Republicans do this? It’s buying votes…. ALL Democrats voted against it. In the midterm in Nevada…. ‘I voted to end taxing your tips, the Dem voted to keep on taxing you.’ I have said I’m not a Republican anymore, but am an anti-Democrat. Now I have to expand my self definition. I’m an anti-Republican too! |

I voted for myself. The country would be far better off if I was President. As someone not beholden to either party, I could take the best of what both sides have to offer. Just I forgot to run this last election. |

I note that in the Senate, it was a Democrat Senator from Nevada who put forth bill for unanimous consent which passed 100-0 The Senate passed a bill recently that would create a new tax deduction eliminating federal income taxes on tips for people working in jobs that have traditionally received them, as long as they make less than $160,000 in 2025. The Trump administration would publish a list of qualifying occupations within 90 days of the bill’s signing. Only tips reported to the employer and noted on a worker’s W-2, their end-of-year tax summary, would qualify. Payroll taxes, which pay for Social Security and Medicare, would still be collected along with state and local taxes. If adopted, the proposed deduction is set to expire after four years. Congressional budget analysts project the provision would increase the deficit by $40 billion through 2028. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, an advocacy group, projects the cost would be $120 billion over a decade if the tip exemption is made permanent. I know licensed professionals, with advanced degrees that aren't an easy study, that don't make $160K a year. Lots of other things wrong with the bill as well. Your problem, Soopoo, respectfully, is that you were so anti-Dem had such a target fixation on Kamala's no tax on tips proposal that you ignored the danger's of Donny's. And now, here we are. |

We discussed the bipartisan groveling for votes that the tax on tips elimination is. It leaves us with no faith in our elected representatives that none of them have come out saying THIS IS STUPID! |

What I would like to see changed is allowing the casino’s normal tracking of end of year gambling win/loss statement to be accepted as legit for tax purposes, no extra keeping notes. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |
