Yes I know that I an hijacking your post but I wanted to reply directly to you.

It is my understanding that you are from the United Kingdom. You really seem to enjoy calling MY President "drumph". Please explain WTF is going on where you live. See links below.

UK 1984: Retired Police Officer Arrested for Post Criticising Rise of Antisemitism in Britain

In Britain the “Thought Crime” Is Real

British police warn an elderly, partially-deaf man that saying "speak English" is a hate crime. The links that I provived refer to RECENT actions in the UK.

Police make 30 arrests a day for offensive online messages

drumph is only nominally a gesture towards disrespecting the [Insert whatever expletive description you prefer] I have no interest in engaging his cult members.

Yeah. with a forty year timescale, you found some abuses in UK policing. Whoopedy Doo.

"...with a forty year timescale...." ????? WTF??? Did you actually follow the links and read and understand what was written?? I think not. If you thought that "UK 1984" somehow referred to actions from forty years ago, you are clueless. The "UK 1984" was to compare what is happening NOW in the UK with the book "1984" by George Orwell.

Walmart

Quote:
We will do our best to keep our prices as low as possible but given the magnitude of the tariffs, even at the reduced levels announced this week, we aren't able to absorb all the pressure given the reality of narrow retail margins," Doug McMillon, Walmart's chief executive, said in a statement on Thursday.

LOL...NOW the complaining will increase.

"How DARE Wal-Mart raise their prices! I have a good mind to write a letter to Mr. Trump, I'm sure he'll stop this foolishness, after all that's what he PROMISED to do."

Yes, Trump lied. A whopper, actually.

But….. IF Walmart is raising prices solely to make up for a tariff, then ALL that extra money de facto is going to the Federal Government. Tariff is a fancy word for tax. As long as we run a deficit I’m all for anything that brings in more money to the Federal Government. And simultaneously reduce spending as much as possible, like what DOGE is doing, Medicaid cuts, getting free $400 million dollar planes (teasing).

It’s funny though how the Dems go batshit crazy about a tariff, but a corporate tax increase, which will have the same result, is applauded.

Let’s raise taxes and cut spending. It will of course be ‘painful’, but imagine if the cost of servicing the national debt actually went down

Yes, I agree, but "Hello, transparency!"

Why didn't he tell us all along that prices will soar?

Answer: he would have lost.

He had to lie in order to get elected and avoid prison.

You can argue with Buffet

Quote:
Buffett's company, Berkshire Hathaway, paid the largest tax bill in US history in 2024, totaling $26.8 billion. He has publicly stated he doesn't mind paying such a large tax bill and encourages the government to use the funds wisely.

Paying a Fair Share: Buffett has often stated that he believes corporations and wealthy individuals should pay their fair share of taxes, even if that means he personally would pay more.

Potential Impact: Buffett has even suggested that if 800 other companies paid taxes at a similar rate to Berkshire Hathaway, it could potentially eliminate federal income taxes for all other Americans.

You do know that Warren Buffet is the largest (legal, smart) tax ‘avoider’ in history? All of Berkshire Hathaways earnings are plowed back into the company, NEVER paying a dividend. Other big companies, like Coca Cola, IBM, Taiwan Semiconductor, etc…. distribute the money they earn to owners, and those dividends are taxed. Just like the income I made as a doctor. If the money isn’t distributed, but plowed back into the company, or even just kept as a cash reserve, NO TAXES are paid on it until sold. And then taxed at a capital gains rate.

Buffett, by dollar amount, the biggest hypocrite in history. Seriously, you don’t think he has a dozen accountants on staff whose sole job is to lower his tax bill?
