They either love him, or perhaps prefer not to be ground into dog food or some other unpleasant fate. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

chickenman Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 0 Posts: 368 | That's amazing. Here's one that surprised me "The dives broke the current records for sea mammals set by the southern elephant seal of 1.5 miles and 120 minutes." Wonder what evolutionary mechanisms resulted in these mammals' adapting their physiology for oxygen usage and resistance to incredible pressures? It defies the imagination when coupled with the fact that they can return to the surface fairly rapidly with no apparent ill-effects. He's everywhere, he's everywhere...! |

odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 154 Posts: 5106 | the animals do have one advantage over submarines: they can let the pressure equalize [I presume] according to Mr. Martin, oxygen is toxic at high pressure. [didn't know I was paying attention eh?][g] I'm sure there are other problems allowing pressure to equalize or even build too high, even if you take precautions against "the bends" The animals tolerate toxic oxygen, I'm guessing.
