Assad wasn't an ally so, at least that's a good thing. Will the new government at least be tired of conflict at a minimum and end up more or less stable? That would at least be an improvement.

The rebels are composed of several different factions, some with close ties with al-Queda and ISIS. One hopes a representative, peaceful and free government will come out of this.

I think it's sad the U.S. has not been more involved in Syria the last 10 years, we really should be on the ground working with free Syrians to design this.

The USA has no vested interest in Syria. At most we want to help Israel keep themselves secure from people trying to flee. Any involvement we already have there is too much. We would have to be crazy to get involved there.

Nature abhors a vacuum. When the US creates a vacuum, or doesn't actively fill one in, someone else will...

I heard that European nations are gearing up to deport Syrian refugees back to Syria now that Assad is out of power.

Good luck with that: the same kind of luck Trump's gonna need to locate, collect and remove the millions of illegals here in the USA.

Let them fill it. Let China waste their bold and treasure there.

I fear you don't realize how bad the new government of Syria may turnout if we don't actively guide it. It will be a lot of work, but America should guide the creation.

Not our problem. Syria s no threat to USA interests. We need to get out of the nation building business.

China is slowly making allies where the US isn't.
