I care somewhat. But let’s see if any of your fears come to fruition. I don’t think they will. Dumb people will do what dumb people will do, regardless of if it’s RFK Jr. or Marcus Welby in Trump’s Cabinet. I’ll bet you $ that no matter who is appointed, terapined can get vaccinated if he wants to. |

Playing golf, walking the dog and buying furniture aren't generally anything within the pervue of a Federal department or Cabinet secretary. So now alter your analysis to those things that impact American's day-to-day lives. Tough to get vaccinated if HHS bans certain vaccines. Tough for women to get their OC if the AG uses an interpretation of the Comstock Act to ban them. |

Yes, RFK jr is way out there on some stuff, but not on everything, he makes some good points and it won't hurt to make the jackasses at Health and Human Services account for themselves. Likewise, it'll be damned interesting if nothing else to follow the Hegseth vs Pentagon drama ... I'd love it if a bunch of self-serving-sucking-up-to-woke jerk generals actually get the ax As for Gaetz, I agree he is beyond the pale. I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

The world is coming to an end. Trump is taking all of our rights away. Funny stuff. No, Gaetz will likely take Rubio's Senate job, but let's hope he can get voted in to corral all the corruption to JAG. He'd be like a middle man. Able to discern potential corruption from non-corruption, then let the military tribunal decide on live TV. |

Policy change in the military is easy. The President gives a legal order, everyone follows it whether they like it or not. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

]Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin I'm not going to say there are not diversity issues in the military but making it the key policy of the Department to the point that one General said that DEI progress was more important than a stronger military is one major issue that he was wrong on. Not telling the Commander In Chief that you are having surgery and then being out for a while without notifying him should have gotten him fired. Totally unacceptable in military organization or in the civilian leadership of the military. I talked to a Colonel I am friends with and he has some concerns about Hegseth BUT he also has lots of problems with what has happened over the past four years. His position is that there are more senior level officials that could have been chosen. My counter is that we have tried those people and have not found any willing to reign in waste, fraud, and abuse and/or provide the best leadership at the Pentagon. Some have done one or the other; some have done neither. It is time to rattle the cage. It could be a bust but it won't rise to the level of disaster if Hegseth is confirmed (or gets a recess appointment) because he will work hard and find the right people to do the things that need to be done. If he doesn't, he won't keep the job. Someone may posit that I think there should be no interest in diversity in the military. I liked the diversity of the military when I was in but there are certain reasonable restrictions that need to remain, or be placed, in effect. I doubt any of the full DEI folks understand the implications of certain policies on a group of Marines in the field without showers and other comfort items for three or more months. The Marines have lost a lot of officer candidates in one minority group due to their inability to meet the swimming qualifications. The answer to that is NOT lowering the standard; it is providing training outside of service to bring them to the standard. The standard is there because Marine Officers have to lead Marines in combat. That is what Marines train to do...win battles. Increased diversity in this case is obviously good, but it needs to be accompanied by a sane policy. (An officer from that minority group published an article that brought the issue to my attention. His article made sense and would make good policy if it is not already being done...i have been out for 24 years...) |

You have a lot more confidence than I do that Trump hires and fires on loyalty not how good they are. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |
