trump has just quietly ( as we brits would say) frigged with the tariffs and world oil market.

With immediate effect he has chopped all tariffs on India from 50% to 18%
He's done so based on a phone call where Indian PM Modi has agreed to buy Venezuelan oil instead of Russian oil.

BUT.
Venezuela is in no position to ship 1.5M Barrels of Oil to India, and won't be for decades, so India will not and can not possibly stop importing Russian Oil any time soon.

I.e. trump simply chickened out again on a pretext.

Also: You did know, didn't you, that trump had already ended the blockade on Venezuela, boosting their oil exports in January?

I'm not saying it's a bad thing that trump has folded on tariffs on Indian products, and I'm not saying that you folks wont happily import more from there as thee prices drop for you. I'm not even saying that it's a bad thing that trump has boosted Venezuela's supposedly sanctioned oil industry, because, he is, after all their ruler.

This may reduce the tariff 'dividend' check that you were all expecting and maybe the tariffs won't pay off your national debt so quickly.
