They were protecting Maduro. He didn't trust his own military.

You'd need something like a Patriot Missile unit to stop a long-planned attack on a single installation by US forces. Fortified positions and conventional weapons aren't going to do it. Only possible strategy is to successfully hide positions so they can pop out from nearby. Even then, might only slow down forces unless you were to bring down a couple Blackhawks by skill and/or luck.

I think that you missed your calling. With such an insightful understanding of the offensive and defensive capabilities of the military, you should have joined the military or became a consultant to the Department of War.

Doesn't take a security clearance to know more than 20 years ago during the Iraq War cruise missiles were flying over a thousand miles hitting targets with precision. We can fire a projectile right into someone's window from a fighter jet from great distances.

I read a little bit about it. Apparently Trump is allowed to do this temporarily, but the final name change would require Congressional approval. With the filibuster there is no chance that happens. It reverts to Department of Defense the second a Democrat is sworn in as President. I was unaware that there used to be a Department of War but it was absorbed into the Department of Defense.

All these (essentially meaningless) name changes are really just Trump trolling the Democrats.

I heard when his face is etched on that mountain it will have its name changed to
