SO as I was doing my weekly shopping I went to two differnt grocery stores to hit each ones respective sales. One had a sign on each door asking patrons to pay in exact change if possible. The other is offering to buy loose change with no fee and no need to roll. Coupled with the slow demise of the penny, banks and merchants are having a tougher time getting change.

If I were a merchant that accepts cash, I would adjust the retail price of all my non-taxable items to the nearest nickel or perhaps dime. I would adjust the retail price of all my taxable offerings to that the cost plus tax equals a multiple of a nickel or perhaps the dime.

With the penny going missing they probably need to eliminate it from non-cash purchases. For instance, there is no 1/2 cent, so we don't pay for something with that in the price point. So, should be the same with penny.

I’m not sure if that’s correct. I think there are some items sold in bulk that might be ‘$0.035’ per golf tee. Or gas always ended in .9 cents. I use cash so infrequently, and coins almost never.

Yeah, maybe it makes no difference.

It's not just Trump, it's what many Republicans vote for. Sad.

Quote:
Since his re-election, Trump has rewarded his corporate donors by dismantling costly regulations they dislike. In the process, time-honored regulations and safety standards that quietly protected life have been gutted, setting us up for a Hong-Kong tragedy of our own.

Federal government regulations designed to protect health and lives include, in the broadest sense, workplace safety, transportation safety, food and drug safety, and environmental protection. Under Trump 2.0, each of these categories of protection have either been gutted outright, or are now so attenuated due to funding cuts they barely function.

Each federal agency with regulatory authority, including OSHA, the FDA, the EPA, and DOT, among others, has been significantly weakened with reduced investigations into wrongdoing and corruption, and fewer cases for failing to comply with safety and environmental standards. Trump has also imposed across the board budget cuts for regulatory enforcement, including inspector staffing across a wide spectrum of industries.

We do all the time. We buy gas in 1/10 cent. It just gets rounded. The penny is gone and we will be rounding, same as Canada does. Those people who love all things Canada are the ones whining about all this.

I am asking our Trump fans Flea and AZ to spin Trump’s Reiner comments as anything but a sick man who is just mean at heart. What kind of human makes that post addressing Reiner’s death?

I’m not asking if his migration policies/economic policies/DEI policies are good. What kind of MAN does what he did?
