That is exactly what's happening Trump has filled the power vacuum because Biden is missing in action. If you're watching the news more and more staffers are spilling the beans as to what happened in the last 4 years. Joe Biden has been out of it since he was elected and even before that. They constantly constantly covered for him and they're not even bothering anymore so he's gone. Physically gone and mentally he's been gone for years. Nobody's bothering to keep the charade going so that show has closed and left town. Obama has been running the show through his staffers that went to work for Biden but even Obama has given up because he lost the election. So there's nobody to pull Bidens strings anymore and keep the puppet going. Have you seen Biden in public lately? When he speaks he barely has enough strength to get the words out. Nobody's looking out for him and pumping him full of drugs.

Here we go again

Trump: U.S. Ownership of Greenland ‘Absolute Necessity’ for National Security, Freedom

Trump makes a lot of good points about this but Denmark is never going to let it go.

I look forward to hearing how he negotiates the loan to buy it and negotiating the price per acre. Or maybe he'll just buy a few Greenland politicians.

Or will Denmark pay for it?

The loan is easy, you just issue the bonds. Would be no "price per acre" but just a flat price. We have discussed buying it in the past, once offering some land in AK as a swap I read somewhere. The real thing is having it gives more of a claim on the Arctic.

Why would Denmark pay if they are selling it? What are you? On dope?

So is this an idea would be taking seriously or should we use our "common sense" to ignore?

It is what is called a "trial balloon." If you were out in the business world you would know how they work. From buying something to hiring someone to lots of other things. You bring it up in a lighthearted way. You intentionally only sound half-serious but you ARE half serious.

Then you take a read on their reaction. They might be receptive. They might be dismissive. They might give a polite blow-off answer.

Then you take it from there. They might say, "never thought of that, are you serious?" If so you decide to talk more later. If they are dismissive you say something like, "well, offer is out there." If they totally blow it off maybe you bring it up the same way after time has passed.

This is one of those things they do not teach you in business school. You learn it on the street. Trump has learned the streets. He is a deal maker, which he proved in his first term. Now he is going to really prove it. If not by buying Greenland then on other things.

No, it's rampant idiocy.

The Orange Oaf pulled this stunt last time he held the office and was laughed at then when he proposed buying Greenland.

Nothing has changed since then except the laughs are even louder.

Note to Oaf: you really need to accept "NO" as their final answer.

If he did that he would just be managing a couple apartments in an outer borough. You need to learn how things really work. Henry afore got laughed at when he was making an early car. Thomas Edison got laughed at as he tried to invent the light bulb. People said they would drink every drop of oil found in Saudi Arabia. Speaking of oil 7!test wells failed in Alaska and they only hit because all the rigs and men were already there. Toyota had to ship their first cars back to Japan because they didn’t sell.

Perhaps Denmark eventually likes the offer deciding a sovereign wealth fund is better than an icebox they have to defend. Who knows.

Teach me.

But not with the talking points you posted: that dog won't hunt: international politics ain't the same as being a slumlord.

The examples you quote echo the way the Germans didn't take "NO" for an answer after getting their ass kicked in WWI.

Sure, if at first you don't succeed, try try again ... and get destroyed and your country partitioned..

Got it.
