Ignored your wall of text as in common parlance the term "medicaid" as opposed to "medcare" is used when describing the health care benefit provided to SSI recipients.

Just read your wall of text.
I'm glad that I was able to educate you on the finer points of SSI and medicaid.
Quote:
You originally wrote "adult Medicaid participants ... will face stricter work requirements.' and I commented how the zomibies on SSI will resist.

In your wall of text you submit that "Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid are not the same thing, but they are closely related" and "SSI recipients often qualify for other benefits like Medicaid."
True but not all medicaid participants are eligible for SSI.
Quote:
Medicaid is the medical benefit that SSI participants get; folks on SSI who get medicaid will need to comply with the new requirement so yeah, I was right saying that "Yeah, sure...all those drug addled, mentally defective clowns on SSI will just JUMP at the chance to work the fields in central valley."
You still don't get it. Nowhere in the link I quoted or in anything I posted did I indicate or state that SSI participants would have the work requirement. They do not. It was only for able-bodied adults on Medicaid. Since they are "able-bodied", they are not eligible for SSI, so your statement "doesn't hold water".
Quote:
I suppose though that in your MAGA world those getting medicaid who are not receiving SSI will just line up and joyously work the fields, right?
Do I believe that every able-bodied adult on Medicaid would "just line up and joyously work the fields"? No, not at all, but some?/many? will. If they do not meet the work requirement, they will lose their medicaid and save the government money. Either way it's a win-win situation.

It is fallacious reasoning for MAGA to believe that requiring "able-bodied" Americans to fill the gap left when wetbacks are deported will actually succeed; sounds good in theory but it will be dashed upon the Rocks of Reality.

Look around: do you see many citizens who enjoy hard work and stoop labor?

We've become soft, spoiled, entitled: nobody will voluntarily step up, indeed all sorts of excuses and exemptions will be sought, just like Trump lied about having bone spurs when he dodged the draft like the coward he really is.

No, when and if Trump makes good on his bluster and actually gets rid of millions of illegals the shit will really hit the fan: produce will remain unpicked, slaughterhoses and restaurants will close due to lack of workers.

Time will tell, eh?

I think the nickname "Ice Barbie" for Kristie Noem is supposed to be derogatory but actually sounds like something too cool for school.

I don’t want the fear of not enough ‘able bodied Americans’ to fill the gap to be a reason to not deport people here ILLEGALLY. As I’ve stated repeatedly, if we feel we can use additional laborers then change OUR LAWS to allow more foreigners to work here LEGALLY.

Few things make me want to vomit more than the thought of paying for able bodied Americans that CHOOSE not to work. If we truly required them to work as opposed to paying lip service to the concept we’d have no labor shortage even with the deportations.

With the increase in AI, robots, automation, etc.. there will be MORE Americans looking for those ‘grunt’ type jobs you are worried about.

You have an interesting dilemma. You disdain Trump for his previous law breaking activities. You can barely make a post without reminding us he is a convicted felon. Why are you soft on those that criminally crossed our borders?

I'm not "soft" on them at all.

I agree that we should have something in place to let the wetbacks stay to do the jobs real Americans disdain; in fact I recently posted my proposal on how to actually pull it off.

The simple reality is that if we boot out every foreigner who is here illegally then a lot of the work currently getting done will not get done, causing catastrophic problems for the economy.

The oaf is finally getting it, it seems, given him blathering about working out some accommodation for workers.

Frankly I love the idea of throwing illegals out on their ass...see ya, Pancho...but there would be one helluva price to pay if that happens.

Former White House Trump Lawyer Ty Cobb

Quote:
Trump} (sic) is worse than anyone in our history in my experience and opinion. As people seem to have forgotten, I was very critical of Biden and despite knowing him and his family well, I spent 4 years writing about his cognitive decline and weak foreign policy. He had competent advisors though including very decent men as AG and head of the FBI. While you could fairly question their effectiveness you couldn't doubt their character. Trump has real contempt for the country, appoints wholly unqualified people to key positions and just kicked 12 million people off Medicaid, eliminated child food support and killed worldwide healthcare efforts monitoring pandemic producing diseases including Ebola (among countless other dangerous things).

Because the two crimes (even though unlawful presence isn't a crime in and of itself) aren't remotely comparable.

Entering the country and staying without permission IS a crime, why we call them "illegal" aliens vs. resident aliens.

Meanwhile lawfare with no victims is indeed nothing compared to that.
