Here's why the CC industry needs to be regulated.

Previously, they did things like add inactivity fees.

So, if you're running the CC business do you A: eliminate the inactivity fee to compete with companies that do, or B: lower the cost of the fee but don't remove it?

Because B is what the CC companies did with most things they came up with.

We could call such fees, "nominally useless unnecessary actions which you can charge customers for"

I mean why remove a new way of charging more altogether, when everyone can make money from it? You and your competitors can just throw the ball back and forth and make more money.

This is a good example of the difference between ‘Need the government to help me because I’m not smart enough to know what I’m buying’ person, like you, and a ‘give me an offer and I’ll decide if it suits my needs’ person, like me.

I have never said I’m against all government oversight. In this case, as long as the terms are laid out, then YOU get to evaluate the terms, and decide if the credit card is right for you! If the terms say $10 late fee, but they try and charge you $50, I’m all for the government stopping that. If the terms say $50 and you accept those terms then whine like a baby about how high the fees are, I guess that makes you a Liberal Democrat. And me what used to be a Republican.

Trump is an elephant. At least as far as remembering who dissed him, and getting back at them! Decades ago he was denied a chance at ownership of an NFL team.

Apparently he is proposing some sort of tax increase directly aimed at the NFL owners. That’s a trillion in net worth of a few dozen guys. This is a funny one! The AOC’s, Sanders’, Jeffries of the political world will have to come out in support of a Trump tax proposal!

I actually don't think the economy is helped by fooling anyone with extra pricing that adds no value. If the airlines all charge some unnecessary convenience fee and pretend you have a real choice by juggling the price of it between them rather than eliminating it, your choice to avoid it is to not to fly period.

Well, you can always shell out for a Lear jet (that doesn't crash)
