I’ll tackle one. ‘Limit credit card late fees’. As long as the terms make it clear what the late fees are, I don’t want them limited by the government. If company A charges $50 and company B charges $10, then company B will let everyone know it!

Why is the government telling a private company that is competing with literally hundreds of other private companies how much they can charge?

Because the US government can regulate interstate commerce and feels it it is just to do so with their creation of the CFPB.

You know why the credit card companies don't have to really compete? Because they aren't really that flexible.

If you could have a hundred different cards, and check which one is lowest for the day at a glance, then the credit cards would be forced to compete.

It's not set up for the average person to easily compete. Would the average person ever be able to get so many cards, Nope.

these religions have a tradition of charitable attitudes towards the poor and marginalized including migrants and those that suffer in poor countries
