How many gays and trans people will there be in Iran? There are no gays in Iran according to the President of Iran. If it was suddenly okay to be gay and trans?

An explosion. I guarantee it.

If more kids are turning trans it’s probably all the lax environmental regulations allowing chemical pollution because they (conservatives) care about money over the common good.

I saw an interesting documentary about trans in Iran maybe 10 or so years ago. I wish I could find it. But, basically the summary is: being trans is fine, but being gay is not, so lots of gay people in Iran have sex changes to they can live openly. This is why they can argue that there are no openly gay men.

Minds are being changed about this in various European countries. But that probably didn't come from arguing with people on social media

Finally, a post from the other side of this I can respect.

I don’t oppose research. I note, there’s only pauses due to more research and doubts. Which is fine.

As far as I can tell, nothing is conclusive. Deflection or not, why has the right opposed gun violence research for so long? It’s not because you care about children, that’s for sure. And it has a way bigger effect.

You use the phrase ‘intellectual lightweight’ whenever that someone has opinions that disagree with you. That’s frankly a sign of being an intellectual lightweight.

The Democrats triple down on that rhetoric, calling Trump ‘an existential threat’ more times than I can count. Somehow during his four years we still seemed to exist despite that ‘threat’.
I consider someone an ‘intellectual lightweight’ when they say they will eliminate the tax on tips but doesn’t say how they will make it up. I consider someone an intellectual lightweight when they think it is fair that the cubicle dweller making $60k pays taxes on every penny but the bartender making $80k only pays taxes
on $15k. (That’s both Trump and Harris).
