Italy ranks pretty high in numbers of people in slavery *today* so I think you need to drop the Italian Connection on this

The upper echelon of Romans (Italians) could have had the most "physical" slaves in the history of the world.

But after physical slavery was outlawed, the way the new plantation works is through the dollar.

So we likely have more slaves than the Romans did, although not physically.

Debt slaves (and non-debt slaves working in the currency) are owned by the Western Central Bank.

It amounts to free labor because they debase the currency on a regular basis.

I have absolutely no idea why the “Trump War Room” thinks this makes her look bad?

Who knows? Maybe her previous statement on the record saying some silly thing authorities could walk into their people's homes to inspect how firearms are stored? I think I get where that statement could possibly come from because there are situations in Texas where certain authorities can check on how guns are stored (adoption or foster care, not sure which is was, but I know someone who was expecting that kind of a home inspection).

Until she no longer has Secret Service protection, which may be never, it is pretty much a given that anyone trying to attack her home will deal with the opportunity to be shot.

I don't care...I think it is good that people want to protect their families. I know a doctor who says that she could never own a gun and would just call the police in case of an intruder. With police response times, that stance would have a high probability of a bad outcome. I live in the country and I won't leave my protection up to people who have to come from miles away to respond to an emergency.

Really?

I can see you don't watch the 'Know the law' gun group videos

If you shoot somebody that turns out to be unarmed, you are under big scrutiny. You can definitely go to prison if the AG has it in for gun rights people. That it would be in your home would help you, but not save you.

And VP Harris could be criticized for not backing up that kind of thinking, not going to the "guns save lives more than take lives" argument

Hamilton Brown was a slave-trader also, which is in a different category, similar to a drug pusher relative to a drug addict.
I didn't see that about him ... he brought Irish 'labourers' to Jamaica, you could make the case they were slaves. Or maybe I just didn't come across "slave-trader" when I looked him up

this goes to the common ancestor likelihood and the prevalence of slavery in the past, especially if you include serfs

Then you are blind or illiterate:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton_Brown

Quote:
According to the Legacies of British Slave-Ownership at the University College London, Brown was awarded a payment under the Slave Compensation Act 1837 as a former slave owner in the aftermath of the Slavery Abolition Act 1833. The British Government took out a £15 million loan (worth £1.8 billion in 2024) with interest from Nathan Mayer Rothschild and Moses Montefiore which was subsequently paid off by the British taxpayers (ending in 2015). Brown was a prolific slave owner in the context of Jamaican society and was associated with a large number of claims, twenty-five in total, he owned 1,120 slaves most of them on sugar plantations in Saint Ann Parish and received a £24,144 (equivalent to £2.89 million in 2024) payment at the time.

Slaves. African's captured into bondage and shipped across the Atlantic to Jamaica, where they and they children were forced to labor in servitude.

He brought over the Ulster Irish after he was forced to free his African slaves.

This whole topic is just ridiculous. You MAGA racists are just something else...

I think the key for Harris, if she wants to be a true leader, is to make amends for her family, preferably in a formal press release.

That's just ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

It's a good thought exercise.

If you referred to siblings, then I'd agree, but not ancestors.

Some families just have relatively clear consciences.

We aren't willing to live under such circumstances.

There are two main traps.

One is killing (especially unborn innocent babies) and the other is slavery.

By far, killing an unborn innocent baby is the worst.

When I locate a good reference about him being a slave-trader, I'll drop it.

I checked him out pretty good yesterday.

If that were true, then there would be no need for slavery reparations.
