Hiring (appointing) must be based upon merit or it will affect a person's conscience negatively. If a firm's social rating (DEI) is not high enough, they can't get new debentures, even if they're never late on payments. Those that promote DEI are the racists and they are dug in. White guys will still be working, but either for themselves or on the fringes as say the IT guy. Nothing to be gained by playing DEI games.
