Both parties have abandoned fiscal responsibility, is this what we want out of government.

As far real spending cuts that might actually work, parties need to find non-partisan cuts. Republicans making partisan cuts to education works no better than Democrats making partisan cuts to Defense.

As soon as there is a power shift the measure gets scuttled or hamstrung.

I'm not worried about DEI, achievement and abilities vary from person to person as far as race. I've worked with whites who were some of the most useless people I've ever dealt with, conversely I've worked with a variety of races and never worried about why there were hired, only on how they performed. You want to base achievement based on a persons race, I base it on individual performance.

Much like you hate women as a group, I take them as individuals. You can make all the excuses in the world, the bottom line you are scared of women. Most weak men are.

Republicans wrongly and intentionally define the term as unqualified. The most qualified person can also be DEI if the person is in a rarely hired demographic.

In my years of military service, I served with every race, nationality, religion gender. Our only criteria was, can you do the job. If not, you're useless. Every race, gender, ethnicity and religion bleeds and dies the same. Some fold, some step up, it's the person not the label.

I got to know some female fighter pilots while I was stationed in Japan. Maybe the strongest and brightest people I've been around. These are women that would scare the hell out of Duff. The group I got to know represented three different ethnic groups. Did I think any of them were DEI promotions? To become a US Navy fighter pilot?

Maybe in the little protected world you old guys live in DEI means something. To me it's a silly label.
