Just as Trump should not be legally liable for his idiot followers who stormed the Capitol, Biden should not be liable for an idiot follower who attempted to assassinate Trump. Of course Biden and the Democrats calling Trump ‘a threat to Democracy’ is a potential inciting factor in this assassination attempt, Biden is not legally responsible. I think a few Republican politicians want Biden charged vis a vis the way Trump was charged for the insurrection.

Ain't the question. My point is the OP said that the Trump side will try to make it political. So I pointed out that their side has made shootings political on far thinner ground.

Guy came from like the next boro over from where I grew up. Call it a "sort of rich kid" place. News says he was registered Republican but donated to at least one liberal cause. Knowing the area I will say it is the kind of place that would be mixed on guns. Some deer hunters and others who supported gun rights and some who would wanted guns banned. The area where the shooting happened would be total gun rights support.

Shot from a football field, including end zones, away. Hit Trump on the ear. The kid was a good shooter, even if he did not know a sniper should aim for the body not the head. That's a long way to shoot from and he is not going to have the sniper rifle and ability to set it up that trained military does.

The nation got lucky yesterday, it could have been a bigger tragedy. I wonder will we start to see these things happen with the POTUS or candidate behind bulletproof glass?

Where was the sun in relation to where that roof was? The agents they were trying to get the attention of might have not had an ideal view of the roof at that moment.

he was not a good shot. This is not a long shot except maybe difficult if you didn't have a rest, or a scope

this could be due to a lot of things, like not sighting in the rifle properly, never practiced with it. Yes, body center mass is a better idea
