Gotta be some old hidebound, conservative, religion-based thinking behind the current policy, i.e. the notion that women are "the weaker sex" who need the protection of and from men.

Bathroom rapes are extremely rare, in fact statistically it almost never happens, basically they are the safest place. Of all the places to worry about men attacking you, high traffic bathrooms are not somewhere you are going to get raped or even assaulted. You are actually most likely to get raped (as a woman) in your own home.

This is the kind of thing that constantly annoys me. Making policy against someone or something without proving your assertion first. Like conservatives appoint someone to investigate voter fraud as a big problem which they actually did. When they didn't find the big problem, they then go back to same claim that voter fraud is a big problem completely ignoring their lack of finding.

It would actually be easy for them to look at all the crime details across the country and compile real statistics that 'cross dressing' in the bathroom goers are more dangerous to women on average. I can guess why they haven't.

I'm also guessing some looked at gun problems and didn't find the answer they liked which is why they block actual sanctioned non-partisan studies.

Do they investigate the claim that drag queens are destroying children in schools somehow. Hell no. Just start trying to pass laws against it.

Blame it on Christianity and the idiocy its followers embrace.

I'm not saying that women who think like this are rational.
