| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 165 Posts: 6376 | at first I thought you were joking, but it makes sense that it's special sand. The way these things work, usually, is that instead of running out, they just get more expensive. There are exceptions, like living natural resources that can really go to zero, but I have to believe this is not a case of that. for club soda, I'm trying 7.5 oz aluminum cans ... since they are not 12 oz perhaps I can tolerate the idea of the waste. And live with the fact that if you want just a splash, it might have to be regular water I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 165 Posts: 6376 | For some reason some people influential enough to answer people's questions think whether or not an animal can get rabies is about whether they are warm-blooded or not, cold-blooded being in the clear ... I have to say it's pretty clear this is not correct, since birds are warm-blooded and don't get rabies. Viruses are very specific infectious agents, something that has different enough DNA is going to avoid the same virus as a vulnerable species [it has been explained to me] which I believe is the correct reason birds and reptiles don't get it. >>> why don't birds and reptiles get rabies? Rabies affects only mammals. Mammals are warm-blooded animals with fur. People are also mammals. Birds, snakes, and fish are not mammals, so they can't get rabies and they can't give it to you. Animals and Rabies - CDC [this is technically correct and maybe though making others are confused as it suggests warm-blooded is the reason] ___ What animal is least likely to have rabies? Humans and all warm-blooded animals can get rabies. Most cases in domestic animals occur in cats, dogs, cattle and horses. Rabies is rarely seen in rodents such as mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, guinea pigs, hamsters, or rabbits. Birds, turtles, lizards, fish and insects do not get rabies. [actually rabies is rare in horses and cattle; rare in rodents is true, for unclear reasons] RABIES FACT SHEET - DC Health dc.gov ___ Why don t cold-blooded animals get rabies? All mammals are susceptible to rabies. Possums are the least susceptible because there average body temperature is to low to support the virus. Precisely because they are cold blooded.[if 'they' means possums that is incorrect] Rabies needs warm blood to multiply. [good example of somebody thinking they have a scientific answer, that don't. Quora is a good place to get bad answers to your questions] Why don't cold-blooded animals get rabies? - Quora I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 165 Posts: 6376 | Probably just not correct about the body temperature. Marsupials are different in DNA enough that this is probably the real reason. >>> Why can't opossums get rabies? They are nearly impervious to rabies because their body temperature is too low to host the rabies virus. They also rarely catch Lyme disease from tick bites, and are immune to the stings of honeybees and scorpions, botulism toxin, and snake venom.May 16, 2017 In Defense of Opossums - Wildlife Habitat Council __ In theory being warm-blooded mammals, a kangaroo could become infected with rabies if bitten by an infected animal. But, Australia is free of rabies so it would almost have to be in a country where rabies is more common. If a kangaroo was bitten by another animal that had rabies it could certainly carry it. [Quora again. I am wondering if Australia has no rabies since mammals had to be introduced and includes things introduced like rabbits, which don't get rabies for some reason] Can kangaroos carry rabies? - Quora Quora https://www.quora.com › Can-kangaroos-carry-rabies I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

I don't think it was my own family, as we fed them table scraps partly to save money ... not that we didn't buy dog food >>> why are grapes bad for dogs? Grape toxicity is linked with kidney damage. Eating the fruit can result in sudden kidney failure and even death. The toxic substance in grapes is unknown, but dogs cannot metabolize tannins, flavonoids, and monosaccharides from grapes. This could be the primary reason for grape toxicity in dogs ___ Will 1 grape hurt a dog? Unlike some foods that are only toxic to dogs in large amounts, a single grape can be enough to cause kidney failure in dogs. If your dog eats a grape, you should call your vet as soon as possible to figure out what to do I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

I once was taking off the that red band that was on baloney slices, and accidently dropped it. and the dog swallowed it in midair. I assume baloney was sliced in a machine that created that bit of plastic, and don't know that I've seen it in a long time. There's no 3 second rule if a dog is lying in wait. | odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 165 Posts: 6376 | I came across putting clay in dough to stretch bread in times of starvation >>> Are some clays edible? Bentonite - Bentonite is most commonly listed as the type of edible clay in many formulations. However, the name is a trading name and not a mineral name. Kaolinite - Kaolinite clay is sold as an antidiarrheal remedy. There is a large body of scientific evidence that supports its use for this treatment. ___ Why do I crave clay soil? Sometimes there is a deficiency in certain minerals or vitamins, which can lead to a craving for dirt. For example, someone who is iron-deficient might crave red clay because it contains high levels of iron. People who are pregnant may also crave dirt as their bodies are trying to get more calcium. ___ what does kaopectate have in it? The original active ingredients were kaolinite and pectin. In the US, the active ingredient is now bismuth subsalicylate (the same as in Pepto-Bismol). __ Is subsalicylate an aspirin? Kaopectate, Pepto-Bismol and Aspirin Bismuth subsalicylate is related to aspirin, so you could develop an allergic reaction. Another important point: do not give Kaopectate or Pepto-Bismol to children or teenagers who have a fever without first contacting your child's doctor. Now there's “Blackfishing.” The term has been increasingly in the news to describe behavior by White entertainers who appear to be imitating the appearance of Black people. It's not a compliment. ___ Why is Kylie Jenner blackfishing? Kylie Jenner accused of 'blackfishing' in new photo as ... Kylie has been accused of blackfishing - which refers to someone pretending to be Black or mixed-race by using things like hairstyling and make-up.
