I suppose there are a few things plastics are best for [outside of cost savings] but I can't think of any at the moment. They are hard to love. I'd be all for eliminating them in areas where something else can be substituted for a reasonable cost. How much do you want to bet there would be unintended consequences?

Without plastics life as we know it would not be possible.

"Best" is almost always subjective. But lets keep it simple. How would the computer you are typing on work without plastics? No nice thin screen. What would the keys be made out of? How would you insulate all the wires inside? What would it weigh? What would it cost?

Want to go back to klunky metal bumpers on cars? How many other examples?

Plastic waste in indeed something we need to figure out. I have to wonder why can't we just mix it into blacktop and concrete in our roads? Or something else. Repurpose vs recycle.

Trump says a lot of stupid things. They are indefensible for the most part. I am not defending him, just trying to get the facts correct about what happened. No matter; he shouldn't have said a lot he said during Covid.

"Both sides" applies to other areas but not what Trump says necessarily unless it is not correctly reported. There was enough stupid in what he said to use without embellishing it at the highest level in the land. How you or I think about it? I don't think it makes a darn bit of difference in the scheme of things.

Biden is the type of low IQ individual who thought that is what Trump said.

Now, imagine if Trump in the early 1970s said "imagine if one day we could use a laser to shape your eye to remove the need for glasses?"

Lefties would be saying "Trump said to shoot yourself in the eye with a laser gun!"

Thinkers like Trump often get ridiculed by those who cannot see the future.

I am glad to see the morons "peacefully protesting" (while breaking trespass laws, using hate speech, and more) are staying "Covid Aware" by masking up at every opportunity.
