I have mixed feelings about that. Obviously I want people to be held accountable, but it really seems "Un-American" to judge peoples freedom based on the amount of money they have. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

In theory you are correct. In practice letting the criminals have no incentive to return for their trials is just plain stupid. I don’t care if you make a wealthy guy have a higher bail. I’ve never investigated it, but I assume you get the bail money fully refunded if you show up on your trial date. Let a judge figure out how much to make it with the goal being the reporting of the alleged criminal to show up. |

While I sympathize with the family,, I doubt if your average lawn hire does much more than scan far ahead to make sure there is no upcoming tree or other object. Plus, it’s a lawn mower.
