This is why Trump was smiling as they read the verdict.

Thursday on CNN, following the announcement of a guilty verdict of former President Donald Trump on 34 counts by a Manhattan jury, CNN senior political contributor Scott Jennings predicted it would favor Republicans in the election cycle. “Well, if my phone and the text messages I’m receiving are any indication, every Republican in the country is madder than a wet hen,” he said. “I mean, people who are decidedly non-MAGA, not Trump fans are blowing up tonight saying this case never should have been brought, these are ridiculous charges. It was an egregious use of the criminal justice system. And I mean, I’m hearing people say I had no intention of voting for Donald Trump, and now I am."

And this is CNN. Remember back in 2016 when Trump got literally hundreds of millions of dollars in free air time on cable news? Because everybody was laughing at him and mocking him? What's going to happen now, between now and the election. Hundreds of millions of dollars in free air time. This is not October 20th, this isn't even August or July, we're still in May. For Trump this is another goose layed a huge golden egg. You'll see. Trump is a political genius.

Your brilliant analysis always misses the fact that he hasn’t had a good election night since Nov 2016.

Yes, he lost in 2020. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.

I would love if Trump gets house arrest, we will get to see what his actual legal residence is (and if he attempted to vote.)

(Also, his "rallies" will be quite amusing if he has to do them virtually....)

I believe Florida is his legal residence and Florida allows convicted felons to vote if the charges were not in Florida.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent.

if only we would be so lucky as to see this

but I doubt we ever will

but then again I thought the jury would hang - so who knows_________?

Chance of 12 jurors agreeing on the obvious guilty verdicts is slim to nil.

Remind me of this post next time you try and make a prediction about the American justice system.

I would have bet against the conviction, but ‘slim to none’?

(Probably a year ago SOOPOO would have also said ‘slim to none’ as well!)

I’m sure you will find them! Wifey wants to see him sentenced to ‘community service’, with him being in an orange jumpsuit on the side of a highway spearing loose trash. I think more appropriate would be to house him in one of the hotels in NYC that are now migrant shelters.

Legal question. He is now a convicted felon in New York State. Let’s assume the judge decides to give him actual jail time. Can Trump just go to Florida for the rest of his days and live comfortably at Mar a Lago? I assume NY would need to try and extradite him and Florida might not be so receptive at giving him up?

I have read a few articles saying Biden SHOULD pardon him. Basically saying it’s not good for the country (too divisive) and that the electorate will allow Biden to prevail, not the courts.
Hard for me to envision Biden pardoning Trump….., unless he has a quid pro quo that Trump if elected will pardon Hunter…?

Stop reading those articles, as they are written by fools who don’t know a POTUS can’t pardon state convictions.

Pump this press conference directly into my veins.

He is in shambles. Disheveled. Rambling. Really could have used a teleprompter.

All these righties pretending like this will help Donny.

Well, of all the clips I’ve seen from Fox News, the talking heads certainly aren’t acting like it. They seem pissed and scared.
