I'm confused about the 25%? I choose candidates who are most representative of what I think American government should be. And Joe is married to and Italian, so there's that representation for me :) |

Rough maths. 70,000,000 voters out of population 300,000,000 |

Certainly representative of the majority. The average American IQ is 97.43. The majority routinely chooses the candidate most representative of themselves. Examples: Pennsylvania, which produces 7.3 million barrels of oil a year and accounts for 19% of US natural gas production, voted for Biden after he vowed to end fossil fuels. Arizona and New Mexico voted for Biden after he vowed to end Trump's border restrictions, which would flood their cities and towns with hundreds of thousands of illegals. Auto Workers Union supported Biden after he vowed to phase out gasoline powered vehicles, while not a single electric vehicle is Union-made, and most are made in China. |

Odd behaviours that show something, but god knows what. Maybe they voted Biden because the alternative was so unrepresentative or unacceptable. |

They voted for Biden because there are ten million more registered Democrats than Republicans. A tin can with a 'D' on it could get elected president. If they voted for Biden because the alternative was so unrepresentative or unacceptable, they got exactly what they voted for. 40.6 million Americans living in poverty in 2016. 34 million in 2019. 37.9 million in 2023. |

Sorry Tanko. Maybe a language difference, but I have no idea what you are getting at. Americans are too stupid for Democracy? |

The crazy Right (Gaetz, et al) used the bizarre power the few of them wielded to can him because he negotiated with the Democrats to get shit done. The crazy dozen or so right wingers have enough clout to oust McCarthy, but not enough to get one of them elected speaker. The Dems had a choice…. just vote ‘present’ and allow McCarthey to continue as speaker and avoid chaos, or hurt the country by allowing the ouster but make the Republicans look like fools. Gee, what do you think the Dems did? It’s why I’m an ‘anti-Democrat’, but not a Republican. |
