Biden really needs to be traded out. It took him two tries first to understand the question about bullseye and then another to correct.

I'll vote for him if he is there either way. So, that part doesn't matter.

But he probably won't be now. There's no need to they're not going to win no matter who they put in there and they know it. Everybody knows it, everybody was saying it immediately after Trump was shot. No matter what anybody says Trump supporters are going to blame the lefties and they're going to come out of the woodwork to vote for him. Plus it's looking more and more like an inside job, like somebody put the kid up to it. Gosh I wonder who that could be..

As if I didn’t need another reason to not vote for Biden, he just promised, if re-elected, to limit rent increases to 5% a year. So the landlord who is paying his landscaper 25% more, his plumber 25% more, etc… should be limited to how much he can negotiate to charge a customer. No one is being forced to stay in the apartment they are in…. they are free to move….
If you own 49 units or fewer you are exempt, because, you know, people who are renting from owners with less than 50 units don’t need the same protections as those renting from bigger landlords. Makes sense to me. NOT!
If you actually think this 5% mandate is a good idea, make it for everybody. The Democrat platform continues to suck more and more.

Even more pathetic about this proposal is that barring an electoral Democrat landslide he’d never be able to keep this promise. No way this would ever see a vote without at least 60 Democrat Senators.

JD Vance does not cost Trump a single vote. Nor does he pick up a single vote. I do think picking a younger guy was a good idea.

I think it may gain him a few votes in Ohio. I am also happy to see a younger person on the ticket. I had never heard of Senator Vance before today.

Let's go hard right and not even try to attract independent voters

I read Hillbilly Elegy and I found Vance Intelligently nuanced, sensitive and insightful. I don’t see that in the politician.

This sounds like many false promises Biden has made since the last election to win over progressives when the new trend seems to be anti-landlord. So I doubt it will even be seriously proposed in the first place, let alone pass. However, there are many areas (locally) that have rent restrictions either limiting the raises or outright not allowing it. And, they do tend to lead to high levels of satisfaction with tenants.

As far as the less than 50 number, I am sure the basis is that landlords with 50 or more units (I am actually not sure if it is units or properties, but either way....) can afford more flexibility. If I own one rental house as supplemental income, and my insurance skyrockets next year, if I can't raise the rent enough to even cover the cost, I would be devasted, if Holdings LLC with 5000 units had a small loss on a couple of units in select locations they will probably be fine (I am sure that is the rationale.)

My issue with Biden is he is sold off to the bankers being from DE. His whole career has been a blowjob to the banks. So he may be saying some nonsense to win votes, but close to zero chance that this comes up again if he does win re-election. My big issue with Biden is that he is basically a Republican on the issues that matter (I sadly do not at all share the views of right wingers who think he is some progressive socialist.) That being said, he is still dramatically better than Trump.

I've already seen how that works.

Every half-sensible Republican in the last Trump administration either got fired or gave up and left. When Pence wasn't trying to make some excuse for Trump behavior, he was sitting around with his thumb up his ass.
