Perhaps women and others aggrieved with the abortion decision will try to galvanize the populace to frustrate the will of the USSC by promoting an amendment to the US constitution which solidifies and legalizes a woman's right to choose.

Boy howdy, were they able to enact such an amendment THAT would be a loud Bronx Cheer to the USSC.

Amendments worked for women's voting rights, and ending prohibition, so why not give it a shot?

Splitting hairs to justify that tearing it to shreds is no big deal.

Ask an expectant mother if it is not a child, see what kind of reaction you get. Don't do it at work, though, you will end up in a long conversation with HR.

An expectant mother has the right to call it what she wants. She also has right to decide what to do with her body if she changes her mind.

No matter what she calls it it is not "her" body it is the body of another being.

Sure. The DNA is of itself not of the mother.

Simple science.

Since the proponents of this potential change are endorsing the greatness of letting the people decide abortion at the state level, I think it would be great to get rid of the 2nd Amendment and let the people decide the questions of guns completely at the state level.

The difference is we actually have an amendment allowing us to keep and bear arms. States already regulate within that. Some states do make it difficult to impossible to get a gun.

Not an absolute majority, but according to Rasmussen, 48% of likely voters support overturning RvW and 45% would disapprove.

"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters would approve of a Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, including 32% who would Strongly Approve. Forty-five percent (45%) would disapprove of overturning Roe v. Wade, including 35% who would Strongly Disapprove.
