About 18% of the global population, which is not a small number.

So if a President of the USA is a member of a "cult of child rapists", he can certainly be excommunicated by signing an executive order allowing abortions.

World’s Catholic population grows; number of priests and religious declines

October 21, 2022

At the end of 2020— the last year for which full statistics are available— there were 1.4 billion Catholics in the world, making up nearly 18% of the world’s population. The Catholic population had risen by slightly over 1% from the previous year— about the same as overall population growth.

However, the number Catholic priests in the world had fallen by 1%, to 410,219. The number of women religious had declined by 1.5%, to 619,546. And the number of students at major and minor seminaries had fallen at about the same rate, to 207,254.

I was reflecting this morning after searching for and reading about Saint Teresa of Calcutta and Hillary Clinton together.

The Saint spoke at an event (keynote speaker?) while Bill Clinton was President.

After her speaking, a long clapping session occurred.

A very long one (to ease their consciences?).

But not Tipper and Al nor Hillary and Bill.

That's difficult for me to believe they wouldn't clap, but I read it.

I still don't believe they didn't clap.

Apparently, the Saint began to look into Hillary's eyes while giving her speech.

Since it was a mostly a left of center event, supposedly folks became uncomfortable and squirming in their seats.

Good for them. Makes me like them all more.

It might make sense if the four I mentioned were not supposedly Christian.

I would have made the guest feel as comfortable as possible.

I figured the Saint, in her comments (see below) about selfishness, while staring at Hillary, were the reason the four didn't clap.

Hillary Clinton and Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa next spoke of love, of selfishness, of a lack of love for the unborn—and a lack of want of the unborn because of selfishness. Then, the gentle sister made this elite group uncomfortable: “But I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because Jesus said, ‘If you receive a little child, you receive me.’ So every abortion is the denial of receiving Jesus.”

I don't think a government should regulate abortion.

It has to be addressed through values.

In this case, valuing another life over self.

If government forces women, it could make them do it for the wrong reason or do it more.

It'll never work in the long run.

If we can justify abortion, we can certainly justify losing life other ways.

Even bald eagles and wars, etc.

I think (and hope) that many politicians lie about their religious views to appeal to a wider swath of voters.

Lots of people think Obama is an atheist. Wouldn’t surprise me. Hard to see how someone that intelligent could be gullible enough to believe in religion.

JFK addressed that issue up front.

I was reading his speech this morning.

Which could be one reason he won, if all recent elections are not fixed.

JFK was Catholic and Irish on top of that, like Biden.

If we go back further to the 1850s, it was much worse.

I didn't care for Obama but I look at a person's heart and not their mind.

Folks can fake their religious beliefs, especially fake Christians.

An atheist wouldn't have to fake.

I agree
I think a lot of politicians don't give a crap about somebody having an abortion. No doubt many are against just to get elected. Herschel Walker was obviously pro abortion due to his actions despite what he says.

How many abortions do we think Donny has personally paid for over the years? Lots.

Somebody has to keep people employed.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent.
