I've pretty much visited every major city in the USA over the last 6 years These are extensive visits since I'm a full-time RVer Not once did I think the National Guard was needed in any city I visited Including both Portlands, OR and ME |

If the NG was ever needed in Portland, ME, the nation would truly be f(&ked. |

The occasional civil disruptions are not what the National Guard is meant for. I do believe if a local government ASKS for such federal help, it would be appropriate use of the NG. The help has not been asked for. |

Portland, ME is the absolute last city in the US I would expect to ever need help. There's nobody there but a bunch of hippies and retirees. If there was ever any NG level violence or an actual insurrection, that would mean the rest of the country has gone to sh!t. |

I was discussing Portland on the west coast. Oregon, of course. Where my son is going. I have thought about the possibility of Trump sending troops to the wrong Portland, though. |

They're more than welcome to come, if they want really good lobster and chowder. As long as they make sure to tip their waitresses. Maybe hit an LL Bean sale on their way out. |

Well Mike..."You ain't seen nothin' yet." Oh wait...you just did see 'nothin' ' ... sort of ... never mind, get back to creating bogus pretexts to justify federal intervention to help keep the public's eye off the oaf and the Epstein matter. |
