Here is the logic being presented by Biden and the lefties on this board.

Trump is a “threat to democracy.”

Ergo, we must use “any means necessary” to keep him off the ballot.

Otherwise, people might vote for him, and that would be “bad for democracy.

In actuality, the lefties actually are saying that:

Trump engaged in insurrection while he was in office,

Engaging in insurrection while in office makes one ineligible for office ever again,

People ineligible for office must not be allowed on the ballot

Otherwise, people might vote for someone who can't hold office/

Unlike Biden, Trump was actually doing what a President is supposed to do. Going after those breaking the law.

Trump is a lawbreaker himself.

Huh? You really need to catch up with reality.

Jury finds former Milwaukee election official guilty of obtaining fake absentee ballots

I’ll give you one guess as to whether this was a Republican or Democrat!

I care less about what party he belongs to but I celebrate the fact that the law is being enforced.

Maybe I will look it up, but perhaps you tipped your hand...

Pete Navarro is behind bars

He is the first former Trump official to be jailed - only a 4 month term

a personal note -

Pete went to my h.s. - B-CC in Chevy Chase, Maryland

a tiny little guy - only about 5'3"; he nonetheless was a starter on our h.s. hoops team

he's older than me but I saw him play quite a few times

he was very quick and effective and the team had a winning record

he went down fighting - he's a tough little guy I have to admit - even though I despise his politics

I think that means Peter can't vote anymore.

But can he be President?

I'd expect his conviction to be reversed off of his record, but was just wondering in general.

"Another Congressional Research Service report notes that under criminal contempt of Congress law, “it is a misdemeanor criminal offense to ‘willfully’ fail to comply with a valid congressional subpoena for either documents or testimony ‘upon any matter under inquiry before either House…or any committee of either House of Congress.’”

I believe that those convicted of felonies have in the past been banned from voting, but the tide has been changing and many can be allowed to vote after serving their sentence and maybe in some states by the type of felony.

I'd say without any further research (someone else can do it if they want to be sure), he can vote in November.

TY RonC.

Four months for a misdemeanor sounds too strong.
