Having a partner whom you love and who loves you makes life easier, or so they say.

Sounds like you aren't even looking, which is a shame: "what could have been..."

But my good buddy is like you in that he gave up and doesn't try to meet anybody; twice-divorced he has health issues he'd find embarrassing when sleeping with a mate, i.e.sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome.

But what's your excuse for turning your back?

Different people want different things. I felt unsettled in my time between wife number one and two. Didn’t feel right. But that’s me. I can easily understand AZ being happy without any ties or responsibilities towards anyone else.

Nothing wrong with me. Nothing wrong with AZ.

Oh I agree he's not "wrong," i.e. only he knows what is best for him: I merely believe that going through life with a partner who loves you and whom you love makes it more...I don't know..."complete?"

I put part of the blame for the anti-woman mindset on that buffoon Tom Leykis.

The few who did not want kids were nutjobs.

Are you implying that they are all not nutjobs?
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent.
