Also, Trump promised to release his tax returns after the audit years ago, so its just one more lie by Trump....

I know. I know. So sad. Isn't it?

What’s worse?

That, or both parties over the past twenty years, giving away 5 million American jobs and $5 trillion in American wealth to China, and spending $6 trillion on a half dozen CIA wars that have left a million dead and the government broke and in debt.

Trump is the anti-politician. He’s trying to undo sixty years of gross mismanagement by both parties.

There could be a severe depression in a couple of years. $15 trillion in global QE, and economies were still tanking, even before Covid. In the Great Depression, there was no Federal debt, and the government had a surplus. There was no personal debt and the country had a strong manufacturing base. At least we had a way out of it through manufacturing. This time around, we have an annual $600 billion trade deficit, the government is 26 trillion in debt, States are $3 trillion in debt, personal debt is $14 trillion, and our manufacturing base moved to China. Even our pharmaceuticals are made in China.

That’s why Trump ended NAFTA, and was trying to end the China trade deal, bring back manufacturing, and end the flow of jobs and cash out of the country.

Any individual or business gets to carry losses forward in their taxes. So the next $916 million he made would be tax free because his net profits over those years would still be net 0. You can avoid paying taxes for the rest of your life Gandler just make sure you lose a billion dollars this year.

I think it's fair to say (as with innumerable businesses) that some aspects of his return would maybe not look great from a reader (voter) standpoint, but are probably just fine from a legal standpoint.

I mean, if not for anything that could be called into question from an ethical or pseudo-ethical standpoint, why not disclose them?

I am kind of snoopy why don't you post your tax returns so I can look at them.

You can take the trip to me to see them in person, if you really want to.

I don't think it will show anything illegal.

But, I suspect it will not look good. If it made him look good it would already be released....

I suspect his income will be less than he has claimed at rallies and his charity will be less than he has claimed.... Trump's whole image is being rich, so having losses every year would not be a good look....

Joe Biden has released both state and federal returns:

If you find anything odd I am sure cons would be posting about it nonstop..... (there isn't).

Also, are you claiming Trump made less than 916 million over 20 years? Because that is not what he has claimed..... There is no way you can spin it that he did not lie about something... I know you are trying.... He either has lied about income, lied about charity, and he did lie about when he would release his returns (we know this because it has long past....)

Yes the President lying about something verifiable is just "so sad" ...
Trump lies routinely....

Lots of pro-Trump stuff in your post, fine, not worth debating, that has nothing to do with releasing personal returns.... There is a reason he is not....

To quote Clinton:

"So you gotta ask yourself -- why won't he release his tax returns? And I think there may be a couple of reasons. First, maybe he is not as rich as he says he has. Second, maybe he's not as charitable as he claims to be. Third, we don't know all of his business dealings but we have been told through investigative reporting that he owes about six hundred and fifty million dollars to Wall Street and foreign banks. Or maybe he does not want the American people, all of you watching tonight, to know that he has paid nothing in federal taxes because the only years that anybody has ever seen for a couple of years where he had to turn them over to state authorities when he was trying to get a casino license. And they showed he did not pay any federal income tax. "

The only tax returns that are public record are for his casino application, and they do not look good....

Clinton is hardly the person who should be talking about someone else's finances. Another person who spend their life in politics making less than $400K per year but is worth tens of millions. HER tax returns are what you should want to see. How did she do that?

"Here's what we do know about Trump's taxes -- thanks to reporting by The New York Times, among others: On his 1995 tax return, Trump declared a loss of $916 million -- a move that could have allowed him to avoid paying taxes for almost the next two decades. Under IRS law, any business can avoid paying taxes in a given year if it lost money in the previous year."

It is called "carry forward/carry back." Amazon is using it to lower their taxes. ANY business will use it to reduce their taxes. Not a thing wrong with it, perfectly legal. You learn it in Business Finance 101 and probably Tax Accounting 101.

This quote is from your OP "Trump declared a loss of $916 million -- a move that could have allowed him to avoid paying taxes for almost the next two decades."

Glad to see that your realized that was just BS from the NYT and you believe he has been a successful business and making money.

Let's assume you made $75K last year Gandler. You had to pay support of $15K for a previous mistake you made on picking a wife. Was your income $75K or $60K? Without further descriptions like gross, net, taxable etc. the word income is meaningless.
