What does 'insisting' mean? Andrew Cuomo has given the ok to open schools in NY. Are you saying he is doing so because Trump "insisted"? What is with you ignoring what is right in front of you? Cuomo sends COVID-19 into nursing homes. Trump sends ventilators into hospitals. Cuomo opens schools. Trump forced Cuomo to do so? Do you actually believe that? Please.... you must be aware that the federal government can do some things.... but not everything. Why do you keep your head in the sand ignoring the actual facts? TDS is treatable....

All Presidents wield power with influence, tremendous influence. Take Gov Desantis. He is lockstep with Trumps insistence to open schools. It's the same with masks. Trump has a crisis thrust upon him. He had a chance at greatness, unite the country against the virus, get the conservatives to wear masks. Instead he divides. In SK, the virus is not political. It's the people and govt united against the virus. The virus is the enemy. In this country, trumpers believe libs are the enemy, not the in their eyes fake virus. In fact any bad news in this country regarding the virus is seen by Trump and conservatives as an attack on Trump himself.
The world will get this hideous virus behind them
This country will deal with the virus for a long time because conservatives believe its a political issue rather then a scientific issue

But you neglect, as usual, to answer for who is actually responsible for actual decisions. Cuomo REQUIRED that infected individuals be sent back into nursing homes. Cuomo has given the ok to allow schools to open. Cuomo allowed dry cleaners and pizza bakers and liquor store clerks and stock brokers to fill the subways. NOT Trump. I will agree with you that many of Trump’s comments were inane, but it is the ACTIONS of those like Cuomo that have sent many to their graves. DeSantis is his own man. His policies have Florida five times less deaths than Cuomo’s in NY? (Guess... I’ll take a fact check by Paco or Tanko).

That's a pretty accurate estimate. Actual numbers are a bit lower.

New York 25,106 COVID deaths for 19.45 million population or 1,291 per million
Florida 5,972 COVID deaths for 21.48 million population or 278 per million
New York absolute numbers are 420% times Florida
New York per capita percentage is 464% time Florida

New York State 87.9% urban
Florida State 91.2% urban

New York urban per capita percentage is 481% time Florida urban per capita

What is remarkable about the radically different death rates, is that New York and Florida have nearly identical numbers of confirmed cases. So if you get the virus in New York you are much more likely to die from it compared to Florida.
Florida: 423,855 total cases
New York: 411,736 total cases
