You cannot even walk into a retailer and buy a Rolex Daytona. You have to be a long term repeat customer to even qualify for a Daytona, and even then there is a 2 year waiting list. Very similar to buying a new Ferrari. Even if I won the lottery, I couldn't just purchase a new model Ferrari. You have to buy used first, and work your way up.

Again even if you say 10k Average (which I don't think is true), 100-200 watches is actually not that hard to move..... Like one person can do it with one box..... It is not unrealistic to say 2 million in Rolexes were stolen in one night even with low inventory.....

But it is unrealistic to have $2MM in watch inventory. That is a lot of capital to tie up. A lot of floor financing. Rolexes do not move fast, they are a limited market.

Back on topic, I see Seattle is experiencing a 5th night of protests right now. How many more days of this must we endure? Tying up traffic, looting, all the BS is not bringing sympathy to their cause.

Do you live local? Is Seattle as bad as it appears? Or just some areas?

Seattle has historically had left wing violence. IIRC only city to have a "general strike" in the USA. Started the modern leftist violence with a G-20 meeting in 1999 or so. Always has protests of things they do not like.

I live outside of Seattle, and watch the Seattle news. AZDuffman is referring to the May Day riots of 1999, which were similar riots that destroyed Nike Town primarily, but other parts of downtown as well. These riots on Saturday were worse with burning cars. How many more days of this is necessary??

Smash and grab is too easy even in non-riot times. It seems crazy that a retailer of high end small items wouldn't be locking that inventory in unmovable reinforced steel boxes in the evening. How much is a strong reinforce steel box bolted down compared to losing those things?

That's probably why if people broke in, they thought they were already gone.

Now on the other hand, you've got plenty of overpriced designer dresses which cost multi-thousand, but in material costs is probably a couple hundred. They sell off of Rodeo drive and I guess 5th avenue, and miracle mile in Chicago. (except maybe jewel studded dresses)
