Did you see The Squad? They are beside themselves because they said if this was not voted on before the other pork bill it would be forgotten. They caved and voted on the other pork bill and lost this socialism bill! They were assured they could still vote for the socialism bill.

Now they are upset that Democrat pols let them down!

It is so sweet. You can't get any dumber than AOC & Her Squad.
They voted against the only significant bill that The House Plant got done.
The Ficus Tree needed GOP support to get that Bill through the House.
By the way, that Bill is going to be very inflationary as a result of having very few revenue raisers in it.
It is basically blowing out unspent Covid Relief dollars for the most part & adding to the National Debt.
And Jerome thinks he is going to get inflation under control with an accelerated taper & 3 rate increases.
We will go to 4 or more rate increases next year, during a mid-term year & the Dems are going to reap what they sowed.
LMAO

I figure you will see The Squad campaigning hard that the Democrat Party just did not support BBB enough so to support them to get it passed. It will of course add to the probable wipe-out.

The UK got Omicron at the end of November.
Deaths are not up in the month following and you want to wait until mid-Jan to figure this out?
If Omicron was an issue, we would be seeing large hospitalizations & deaths now in the UK.
And we would have seen them in South Africa certainly by now.
South African doctors say the crest in cases has already happened, no increase in deaths.
Yet Europe continues to shut things down and take ridiculous precautions over higher cases.
Instead of looking at no higher hospitalizations and deaths.
But keep ignoring the data, it seems to be a strong point in the European mindset.
Some validity there. See. Unlike you, I can consider opinions.
We were introduced to just a tiny number of cases at the end of November. We have just seen 7 or more omicron deaths and some hundred or so omicron hospitalisations. Not statistically strong numbers. Testing for omicron is nowhere near done for 100% of all infections. We are seeing something like the expected number of hospitalisations and deaths that we should expect from the very low numbers infected that month ago.
And now we have tens of thousands infected and we rather expect to see resulting deaths a month from now. I hope we don't.
South African death stats look promising, I grant you. But their demographics are so different AND they had a VERY high rate of previous infections with delta. It is not unreasonable to suspect that those who had delta and now have omicron, might get off lightly.

Yes. Europe does care deeply about the potential from omicron. Ridiculous precautions? I'll take US guidance on what are sensible precautions when I see any sense from the US. You guys cannot agree on whether Delta is an issue and 1 in 30 of you is walking around with it.

Actually you are more likely to take US guidance the next time you get attacked.
Maybe we'll save your asses again, maybe not. But keep talking a big game.

Having a powerful military makes you powerful and potentially a useful friend or a fearsome enemy. Doesn't imbue any wisdom or moral standing on your leaders or citizens. Next time we get attacked, I'd expect the US to decide what's in its interests. Worse, it might be decided by the deranged president of the day, by whats best in HIS interest and what he can skim off the top. It wasn't always so.

BTW, it’s amazing how in just a few short years a red baseball cap has come to so totally symbolize the absolute worst of our society.

Unfortunately, we have people who think wearing a paper mask is tyranny, and storming our national capitol a joke.

Hopefully, we'll eventually get this straightened out by keeping some adults in charge and the sensible people of the world won't have need to worry about us.

Thank you. You do indeed have some 'misguided' people. And some have power way beyond their representation. GOP generally, Manchin, Trump still, Fox News, the evangelicals, other MSM. All just cliques. Where are the Illuminati when we need them $:o)

I hope you are right. I fear you are wrong.

What few sensible people there are in the world, I'm thinking outside of the USA, have seen how fickle, senseless and untrustworthy, your representatives are: Maybe even sensible Americans can see that too and tear out their hair in frustration.
We worry about leaders of both shades: Trump with his disregard for NATO and the global environment and global trade and covid response, and for every American citizen not supportive of his grift! and Biden with his careless and sloppy abandonment of his allies in Afghanistan and his strategically feeble stand down in the Ukraine. Feeble in general.
America first.... Fair enough. Not your problem, not your battle, just as WW2 with Germany and other wars have been perceived.
The USA is no longer the big friend looking out for us. No longer choosing to lead the world in any kind of right direction. And no. I can't see much better in any other nation or group of nations. Europe, Asia, Nato, UN, G7, China, Russia.... All just power grabbers, uncoordinated and all under the influence of one set of lunatics or another.

As a species, we are so f***ed!

Stay safe, and Season's greetings.
