This was not a risk-benefit analysis. The study does not suggest the vaccines do more harm than good.

Generally if someone dies from something specific, you would have the same reactions. For instance, you take a certain a kind of poison, people have similar reactions, or you drown you have certain effects. And so forth. There's some variation, but it shouldn't be enough to throw off examiners.

In other words, what's the connection?

So is there a consensus on Omicron yet? Clearly MUCH more transmissible, case numbers are skyrocketing. But doesn’t seem to be causing severe illness compared to Delta? Is this just hopeful thinking on my part?

You're more likely to catch it than Delta, once it's widespread enough. That's all we know so far.

We know that Omicron has killed as many people in the UK so far as Alec Baldwin.
Since they reported their first case in the UK day after Thanksgiving and it spreads a lot faster than Delta,

I've read somewhere that its more infectious because it multiplies 70 x faster than delta. It also seems more active in the bronchi compared to delta that goes deeper in the lungs. To this layman, that sounds promising. We also know it bypasses existing immunity to a large extent. Not such good news. Some say it seems less severe, but data is still thin on the ground. Another week or two should start to reveal severity. Half as severe and 10 times more infectious doesn't feel trivial.
Personal opinion... I'm hopeful but intend to defend myself a couple of weeks until we know better.

Was just listening to a doctor on the radio who is a virologist ad a vaccinologist and he says 81% of the people in Great Britain who died of covid in the last 4 months we're all vaccinated. He says that them telling us that vaccinations protect us from dying is a blatant lie. He himself has never been vaccinated because these vaccines were never vetted or tested for a long enough time. He's had both covid and Delta and survived both of them fine. He says the vaccines and the masks are all politically motivated. He says they're finding now that the vaccines are causing some people to be very susceptible to catching other diseases. He went on and on about how the survival rate for most people is 99% what is all the panic about. He sounded very credible I'm going to look him up later i and research him.

Sounds like absolute BS to me (the doctor’s claim, not the fact that you were listening to some quack on the radio).

A quack, a nutcase or a conman by the sound of it.

I'd be embarrassed to tell people who had been in some foreign prison camps I was afraid of the coronavirus vaccine. The forced Injection of non-therapeutic drugs can be part of the regimen these people had to survive.
