I am backing out the numbers the CDC put out. See the article. 94% of the deaths had 2.6 other contributing factors. So only 4% of the cases are healthy people who caught it and died. The rest are the same as if the regular flu caused it. 2.6 other factors means it is just 1 of 3 things the people had.

It is what I and others have been saying all along.

AZ..... just because someone has a pre-existing condition..... does not mean they were going to die.... of the 170,000 that died...... you honestly believe 150,000 would have died anyway?????/ Stop being obtuse.....

Remember, if 170,000 died.... there may be 10,000,000 or so that had it and didn't..... but the death toll IS the death toll........

I have said the real 'impact' is number of life-years lost. The life expectancy of people who died before they contracted COVID-19. I think that is what you are getting at, and I agree with you that is what over states the severity of the disease as far as societal impact goes. If it killed 20 in a nursing home that each had an average life expectancy of 3 years, that is similar to a single bicycle accident that kills a 25 year old.

I am not being obtuse. The point is it is not nearly as deadly as it has been reported as. I think we both know that the average Mr. or Mrs. America hears "170000 dead!" they imaging 170000 formerly healthy people who caught the thing and died an untimely death.

This is not the case. I will go back to real life example Frank Culotta. Guy was on oxygen. He had to take a break to do a 20 minute video shoot. That is just what we see. Did Covid kill him? Or was it just old age of a guy who had a reckless several decades of his life? Just because it was what pushed him over the edge is no reason to say he "died of Covid."

Would 150,000 have died anyway? Look at the median age. It has been well over median life expectancy. How many in nursing homes? Would they have died this year? Maybe, maybe not. But they are not normal, healthy individuals as is being made out.

Soopoo is a doctor, he went to
med school and everything. Like
all doctors he thinks he's an
expert on everything medical.
How can you doubt anything
he says.

Soopoo would probably do fairly well on a credibility poll between the two discussion boards.

You've read a few of my posts,
do you think I care even the
slightest little bit? I post for
myself and never give a thought
to what others think about it.

CDC says 94% of ALL Americans who have died of COVID-19 had at least one other underlying disease.

Only 6% of the death certificates had Covid alone as the cause of death.

‘For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.’

The response did more damage than the disease ever will.

Well yea
Most people are overall healthy but have some underlying condition
Like myself
If I get covid and die
I'm sure my life long asthma would be documented with covid as a cause of death
