The policeman (or woman) should be 6 feet from my car window anyway. I don't think I need a mask.

On a highway they would be standing in the lane of traffic if they stood six feet back from the driver's window....

I guess you can argue that should walk around to the passenger window, but there may be a passenger in the car, and there are many other practical reasons to be on the driver side....

Yeah that is not going to happen.... Can't really be banned by executive order or even by congress. It is more of a State-Level restriction that can be imposed... Since it relates to driving (State Laws). And, most States are hesitant because of budget reasons.... And, even States with restrictions it more so relates to collections rather than ticketing (for example some states mandate that cities cannot have the DMV suspend your license for unpaid camera fines, but you can usually be added to the boot list still)…

Sure the feds could. Have you not heard of the Feds banning choke holds by the cops? Feds ban things all the time. Could also simply ban their manufacture and import. Can also hold up highway funding for states that keep using them to rob their citizens.

In Europe such cameras have been around for decades and they get on just fine..... In many cities it has proven to be an excellent source of revenue and reduce collisions at intersections where installed (both of these points are empirically true, and you can look at just about any data from cities that have them before and after)…..

Europeans do not value freedom the same way Americans do. An just because they want to be robbed by their government why should we?

As for the HOA relation, some HOAs do actually have speed cameras (and can ticket property owners, people who don't live there its not enforceable). But, like I say to people who complain about HOA's don't buy there if you don't like it.... Its the free market. Conservatives should love HOAs, its literally private government and you can choose to sell your house and move to a different one if you don't like it.....

Conservatives generally hate HOAs. HOA's are for people who have the feds telling them what to do, the state telling them what to do, the county telling them what to do, their local government telling them what to do, but that is not enough so they want some private association telling them what to do. That is not what conservatives like. Liberals are probably up for that. Why would you think conservatives would like it?

The big issue is in many places all new developments must have a HOA so not buying in one gets harder every year.

Camera enforcement is about picking citizens pockets, not safety.

Cuomo is absolutely useless. This is the same POS who tells everybody else to wear a mask, yet he gets caught red handed with no mask just like POS Fauci and POS Sissylackey.

But of course libbies around the country will just make excuses for him like the good little sheep they are. 🙄

Video shows mask-less Gov. Cuomo hugging mayor of Savannah, Ga.

I just found out this about where I live:
"Ohio and  Georgia introduced a statute requiring that one second be added to the standard yellow time of any intersection that has a red light camera, which has led to an 80% reduction in tickets since its introduction."

We have four in my city (with no plans to add more) they were added from a State grant to four at risk intersections, and have dramtically lowered the rate of collisions"

"Those types of crashes are down at each of the four intersections, according to data from the city. The biggest drop is at the White Bluff intersection. There were 8 of those crashes from 2000 to 2004. In the 14 years since, there have been only eight."

I can show studies in other cities, but I have a feeling your response would be the same.... They lower crashes, mathematically that cannot be argued. They also generate revenue for very minimal maintenance costs (and that is not a negative).

Anyway, as for HOAs, most libertarians I know want no central government, and just local rules. So a HOA in the middle of a desert that pretty much runs itself with its own rules is pretty much their dream. I dont know the data on if conservatives hate them more than liberals. But, again, free market, don't buy into an HOA development if you don't want to sign into their contract and abide by their rules... Voluntarism, isn't that the term? ..... If enough people hated the rules, the rules would change (people would either move or not buy, or vote to change them). Many people like living in a neighborhood where their neighbors don't have their lawn covered with junk cars and grass growing up to their windows.... If you don't, most property in America is not in a HOA....

I would say something, but he's a pretty sensitive guy and I wouldn't want to hurt his feelings, so I'll just clap in agreement. 👏👏

Yes, that is a negative. Using traffic tickets as a revenue generator is always a negative. Using a machine to generate that revenue is a criminal act by the government against it's citizens.

Libertarians will generally hate HOAs as well as conservatives. HOAs appeal to people who like to make and enforce rules. It seems as though you prefer to be told what to do because you are afraid of people not keeping their lawn the way you want them to.

I'll never understand this guy. He's young though, so hopefully his views change when he gets older.

Support for camera enforcement makes me really question how many people really want to live in freedom. It is as if so many people would prefer to live in a gentle but police state all for the sake of "order" or "the common good."

Yep, the virus has actually exposed all of the people out there who want their freedom taken away.

And it's scary! Some of these people are practically on their knees begging the government to take away their rights!! 🙄
