. America is in truoble
SOME of them are. Please distinguish between Jaywalking and massive illness. Also, of those who are Americans, which are truly of "interest"? Convicts, non-English speakers, etc. don't matter: detention. deportation or machine gunning is cheap.

You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what you mean is "if we acted like nothing unusual was happening, the average person would not know it exists." In that a lot of people would get sick, most would get better, and we would be sad for those we lost, but not locking down the economy, etc.."

Pretty much.

100,000 in the US

From Wikipedia

"The CDC estimated that about 34,000 to 100,000 people died in the U.S"
Lets say 75k , and that's without masks, without social distancing and with full bars that never closed
That's over 2 years
Today 125k over 1/2 a year and that's with economy closing, with social distancing and with masks and empty bars here in FL
Pretty big difference to me.

Lowering the curve so hospitals have enough beds is beating it
Not enough hospital beds for those that need them is losing
This virus still scares me
How hard is it to social distance and wear a mask. Pretty easy.
I am still in quarantine. Shocked at the crowds Trump attracts with no social distancing and no masks. America is in truoble

Wearing a mask is a difficult thing to do for many people. If you wear glasses you are fogging up all the time. If you are working very hard it can be a real problem to breathe properly. Once you are having a little trouble breathing that can cause panic attacks. I have had trouble with masks for years. If I get up in an attic with the dust and fiberglass I am hacking and coughing, if I put on a mask I can't see and have mild panic from breathing being restricted. Usually go without the mask but worry about the crap I am putting into my lungs.

So the USA is getting in the 1% range of official cases but likely much higher. If we assume that 10% of the people have had CV in 4 months and this is at at higher rates than you are comfortable with. If we are going to see 80% get CV then we have 4 months X 8 = 32 months before we slow down the number of cases, longer if we slow the spread too much now. Are you prepared to spend the next 3 years in quarantine level you are at now?

Right now I feel pretty good about my quarantine life. Still golf. Still ride my bike a lot.
I'm hitting the road(after house sells) seeing the entire country, especially civil war sites. I think that can be safely done social distancing
I plan on seeing all the national parks and camping there. This can be done very safely.
I've given up concerts, live sports attendance , festivals, casinos, live poker and eating in restaurants. I don't feel safe doing those in surging Florida. I may go back to those fun activities if I feel safe, I may never go back to those activities. It kind of sucks but I want to live.

Raw Number of Deaths from COVID-19 in first three days of July
15,804 World
3,570 Brazil
2,600 United States
2,068 Mexico
1,320 India
541 Peru
517 Russia
436 Iran
420 United Kingdom
...

WorldoMeter US Deaths for July 1-3rd in the US: 676+687+616 = 1979. What am I missing that would have the US at close to 900 deaths per day when I am seeing more like 700 per day in first three days of July?
We don't have a US performance problem as it relates to Covid response, we have a NY/NJ performance problem.
If NY had performed like the other three most populated states in US (FL, TX & CA) in deaths per million of population, NY would only have 2,743 deaths. Instead NY has 32K+. NJ would have 1255 deaths instead of 15K+, if they had performed like FL, TX & CA. Maybe shutting down the Subway on 3/16 and not sending infected elderly patients back to nursing homes would have helped NY & NJ. No one asks these questions of Cuomo & DeBalsio.
All that matters are deaths.
The following European Countries have worse stats than the US on deaths per million of population despite NY/NJ: Belgium, UK, Spain, Italy, Sweden & France. You would add Netherlands and Ireland to that list if Cuomo hadn't F'd up NY/NJ.
The "Europe" that everyone is talking about that is doing so well comes down to Germany. Germany performed phenomenally well in death rates. Even CA which has done well to date at 160 deaths per million can't touch Germany at 108. I disagree with Newsom on many things, but he has done well for CA handling the Covid. Telling families not to gather on 7/4, but allowing the BLM protests is a little disingenuous, but I digress.
Cases going up are directly tied to BLM protests & Bars. Young people getting together and talking/yelling loudly with or without masks. They aren't going to die, so they don't care if they get infected and they spike the case count. The death counts will continue to decrease despite the rising cases that started to go up on June 19th. Those cases would be producing increased deaths right now and they aren't.
Ignoring weekend counts, midweek death counts, Tuesday - Friday, 6/23 - 6/26 deaths: 817/819/653/663
Here are the death count numbers for this past week Tuesday through Friday 6/30-7/3: 727/676/637/616
The Pandemic is not getting worse in the US, young people are getting infected and recovering and the compromised population is staying quarantined. But that narrative doesn't draw eyeballs, so the media can't push that message.
Wear a mask, social distance & if you are compromised, stay locked down. Everyone else is going to get on with their daily lives and we'll have the Pfizer vaccine by year end (or one of the other 3 promising vaccines).

Sadly, I think he is. Remember, he's the guy who was giddy about being on the dole. 🙄

NY leads in daily deaths for one more day today and together with NJ, make up 22% of the daily death count.
NY/NJ combined have less than 9%+ of US Population & 35%+ of US "Covid Deaths" as of today.
But really, it's those nasty governors in TX, FL AZ & GA re-opening their states too early that are the real problem.
NY/NJ have 6X the death rate of GA & AZ, 10X the death rate of FL and 18X the death rate of TX.
Blood on their hands, no doubt about it.

I think I remember FACE saying at the post office, no one was really taking precautions. I know he's not old or obese, but maybe he got one of the more rare bad cases.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

I’m old enough to remember Duffman or some other rightie saying Gov Whitmer was going to get voted out of office over her tough stance on COVID...
